You know what, I didn't appreciate that enough, until you said it.
It is nice not having to see ads every 2 seconds.
My meme addiction
Nostr definitely solves more problems than only one! For me, these are the main fixes:
1) enabling true free speech
2) cutting out the third party for a peer to peer communication
3) enabling a value for value economy
4) positive feedback loop of quality content and rewarding quality
Free information flows without censoring from the top down or bottom up,
For ex, even if you block me - you can't stop me from seeing your content or interacting with your posts.
Freedom of speech.
IMO, nostr solved these:
1. censorship (noone can stop nostr)
2. misused recommender algorithms (incentivising violence, conflict rather than value)
3. bitcoin/lightning user experience (thanks to zapping, transacting Bitcoin has become a daily habit); medium of exchange
#3 may have greater implications as when you consider millions of people using lightning with ease and speed it offers, there may not be going back to banks, fiat.

Still addicted to the memes tho…
People fundamentally want to be able to help each other in times of need. Nostr paired with Bitcoin I think has the best chance of doing this in the most direct way that is possible over the Internet.
Instant feedback with zaps in the marketplace of ideas.
Nostr makes the internet punk again.
It doesn’t any fix any of my problems per se but it does add value to my life in unexpected ways
