It also makes Euronymous more innocent than he had any right to be.
It's about the 90s Norwegian black metal bands. And no, do not watch that shit heap of a film. It's badly acted and few if any of the original artists wanted their music in the film.

I think that's the question, rather than older bands with new material, but feel free to answer however obvs. I'm curious to see recommendations, cos I'm not aware of all that much new in metal.
I do know there's a bit of a death metal revival with bands like Blood Incantation, Tomb Mold, and Worm:

Aside from bands like Disma and Funebrarum that are made by guys from the old scenes, newer death metal made by younger guys isn't worth listening to. It always sounds like aggro hardcore with an AI-regurgitated "Old school" wallpaper.
