I'll write down some features I'd like to see in Bitkey:

1- I'd like the Bitkey app to start without showing the balance and transaction history. Why? If someone kidnaps me and forces me to open my Bitkey app, they wouldn't know how many Bitcoins I have. It would be even better if Bitkey started with a wallet other than Onchain, like using the Bitcoin L2 that Lightspark is developing (Spark.info), for smaller transactions.

When starting Bitkey without showing the balance or transaction history, I would have to use the Bitkey device to unlock the wallet and be able to use it.

2- Another feature that I think is super important is: using different fingerprints for different types of locking, for example:

If I use a fingerprint from a specific finger, the wallet would be unlocked showing only a part of my balance, this would be useful if someone kidnapped me and forced me to open the wallet. I would use this specific fingerprint and the person would only see and be able to transfer this small balance. They wouldn't know and wouldn't have access to the entire balance.

If I use this specific fingerprint, it would also activate a security mode that would not allow me to access the full balance for a period of 7 days. This would serve as a security measure to prevent the hijacker from forcing me to access the main wallet if he suspects that there is more balance.

And if I use this specific fingerprint, it could send messages to pre defined contacts a message that I'm in danger and that is a good idea call the police.

I just want the ability to recover/sign a transaction outside of the block stack using sparrow or specter

Anything negative is an opportunity to expand your threshold for discomfort.

Guiding philosophy of my life.

Using the phrase “that’s above my pay grade” when presented with a task marginally outside of one’s job description is such cope.

Take some initiative and do it!

What’s the image from?

Social recovery. You’re using the server key and an encrypted copy of your mobile key that is provided to a trusted contact.

It would be really cool if it there was expanded interoperability with other open source wallet software. The ability to reproduce the wallet on sparrow in the event of catastrophe/verify transactions with my own node would be amazing.

I know the product is intentionally designed to obfuscate that complexity, but for more technical users that would be an excellent improvement.

With that being said, congrats to you and the team on a great product!

nostr:npub1rxysxnjkhrmqd3ey73dp9n5y5yvyzcs64acc9g0k2epcpwwyya4spvhnp8 any plans to cover the bitkey? I think people could really benefit from one of your walkthroughs of it.

How is it to be expected Nostr will draw users from other social networks that are purpose built to trigger dopamine releases in their users?

Genuinely curious what the argument is.

Are we assuming migration out of necessity (I.e. censorship)? Some killer feature?

When I lived in SF for a summer I decided I wanted to check out a vintage clothes store. Followed google maps directly into the tenderloin 😂

As I entered I vaguely remembered that someone had told me about this rough neighborhood off market and I audibly thought “well this will be a great story if this is the tenderloin”.

Is this the tenderloin? 😂

Check out Point Lobos while you’re there, gorgeous park

So 10% reduction in float available….this is a chart crime

You’re getting me fired up to throw down one as well. Need to find a Concept 2 I can use
