There are a total of seven Small & big lakes in this area and have different names from centuries ago.

This place was such a distant location from Kabul that an Old Man asked one of our friends the shocking question of "who is the ruler in Kabul". After almost three years of Govt change & one of the history's biggest chapters, an old Man here in this remote area of #Afghanistan didn't know who is ruling #Kabul. He did, however, knew that the American invaders had ran away & its Govt changed, but wasn't aware of the current Prime Minister's name.

Beauty however in this village was breathtaking.

as you can see from the picture, the air in this area was probably the cleanest.

A sitting area resembling vintage Arabic Style homes & Guest houses in a restaurant called "Cafeteria" at the heart of Kabul city.

This restaurant has one of the most diverse menu of Western & eastern cuisines, & is surprisingly reasonable in prices, as well as in maintaining quality standard of the food. We had American steak, Afghan lamb steaks, Chinese chawmin, A large Shrimp 🦐 Pizza.

Drinks included Mojito, Mint Margarita, Chocolate shake.

And we also had one of the best rolled icecreams 🍨 of Afghanistan here.

Band e Amir #lake in historical #Bamiyan Province of #Afghanistan is one of the most beautiful tourists destinations of our Country.

This lake, jn fact, a seven lakes in total, some small, some big are located 20 km from the main Bamiyan-yakawlang Highway & is an hour drive away from the main Bamiyan city.

Here is a simple yet extremely delicious lunch on a winter afternoon in Kabul, #Afghanistan.

#Rice cooked with spices & garlic, salad(or as we call it salata since this is chopped) and chakni( tomato sauce made from green tomatoes and chillies).

All this is homemade, not from a restaurant.

And like every meal in Afghanistan, this one was also followed by Tea(saffron tea in this case)

Anaar means #Pomegranate in Pashto & Persian.

An 11kg package of the best Ripened Anar goes for about $8, bringing the price of a kg to about 80 cents.

Sheeryakh is an Afghan dessert like Ice-cream that's made of Fresh Raw Milk, sugar, & ice with Dryfruits as toppings. It's made in Vanilla flavour Most of the time.

It's the ultimate #Afghan dessert throughout Afghanistan made in different styles & sizes. A cup of it could range from as low as 20 af($0.25) to as high as 250af($3.15) or even 400af($5).

The most Famous Sheeryakh in Afghanistan are from Kama district of Nangrahar Province called Kamawal sheeryakh, Mazar e sharif in Northern Balkh province called Sheeryakh e Mazari & Taluqaan city of Takhar Province called Takhari Sheeryakh.

A #massive irrigation project is underway in the north of #Afghanistan that will forever change the agriculture of the area.

Queshtepa #Canal is an artificial Canal of 285+ km taking water from the Amu Darya river & passing through three afghan Provinces namely Balkh, faryab & jowzjan. The first phase of this Canal(108 km) is completed at 95% & work on it should soon be finished. This Project with an estimated cost of #$500 million( acc to Previous Govt estimates, #$5 billion was needed)is completely financed through domestic revenue. Zero outsider help is sought in this project which makes it the first of its kind since past 5 decades.

Salar shah village, gyan district, Paktika Province, #Afghanistan.

Last year in June, Afghanistan was hit 🎯 by a powerful earthquake that destroyed 99% of this village & a dozen more villages across Afghanistan. However, the resilience & hospitality of these people didn't suffer anything. When we went there, they tried to serve us with whatever they had & apologized above all that they couldn't serve us well. Despite our constant insistence, they still served us green tea with sweets.
