Pues si añades -z a shred te pone zeros al final; ya depende de para qué lo quieras.

Sobreescribe el disco (o fichero) con datos aleatorios varias veces, porque según el hardware pueden quedar "restos" de los datos si solo lo sobreescribes una vez. De todas maneras es muy difícil recuperar nada aunque solo hagas `dd`, ya depende del nivel de seguridad que necesites.

Se usaría asÍ:

shred -v /dev/sdX

What are your use cases for this kind of virtual currency? I have seen several scams related to them. That does not mean there exist legitimate purposes, though. Nevertheless, most of the time I see people posting about how great they are without actually showing how they use them.
