One of the things I love is mixing my own skincare products - It started as a cost-saving initiative, costing about $50 every 6 months and at most, I’d spend an hour or 2 a month to mix it but the benefits are substantially higher than that - as it's more natural, healthier and you get to customize for sensitive skin.

I'm not an apothecary, but if you love natural skincare products, I’d love to know your skincare mixology.

Here’s some of my mix

Ingredients :

Hydration /humectant : Hyaluronic acid, vegetable glycerine, aloe Vera gel, aloe (real plant)

Carrier oil : Sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, argan oil, castor oil (Castor oil, coconut oil has high comedogenic properties and can clog pores hence has to be used sparingly. Almond, grapeseed, jojoba has non comedogenic properties )

Essential oils :Ylang ylang, tea tree, neem, prickly pear, cactus oil

Antioxidant :Vitamin C, green tea extract

Vitamins :Vitamin E

Water component :Distilled water or rose water

Emollient :Unrefined Shea butter

Actives :retinol, niacinamide

Preservative :grape seed fruit extract

Recipes :

Gua sha massage - non comedogenic carrier oil

Healthier eyebrow, removal of skin tags, pigments - castor oil

Other stuff such as body scrubs, scalp scrub, face masks often times just comes from the kitchen :

- coffee scrubs with honey,

- sugar scrub with coconut oil / avocado oil,

- face masks with yogurt, aloe and honey as base.

- Hair masks with egg yolk, coconut oil

Stuff off the counters I love are hydration masks and the gold eye masks.

The above might sound like a lot, but it has way less products and chemicals compared to store purchased goods, and a fraction of the money spent.

If you have a natural skincare routine, I would love to know more !

DIY FTW GFY!

i started making yoghurt the other day and i'm never spending a cent on yoghurt again. milk only, 8-18 hours and goodness.

life hack:

disable link previews on your nostr client and save bandwidth, processing power, and reduce your exposure to toxic DRM and reduce the addictive power of the dark pattern of doomscrolling.

yes, nostr powered media delivery will be a big thing

especially when someone actually funds a project working on making it decentralised unlike the existing CDNs.

but also, fuck spotify, apple and google.

one of the most distinctive features of the island of madeira is the albino animals.

i met a white horse with bright blue eyes at the airbnb i stayed at for my first week here.

then i saw white cats very frequently. one of them was hilarious, he wanted me to pat him real bad, and when i didn't stop and give him pats until he was done, he swiped me with his paw and left a scratch that reminded me of him for days afterwards.

yesterday on our way to have roast beef on the spit over coals, a white dog, sweet as honey, escorted us and did our security detail as we passed through the misty valley where the meat eating venue was.

blonde hair, red hair, pale skin, these are relatively recent genetic mutations in the human species.

they caused us to absorb a lot more light into our bodies than before.

the cause was a supernova some 400 light years from us about 40,000 years ago.

it also made it possible for us to drink milk into adulthood, and now some 60-70% of the population can easily tolerate lactose.

i believe that the lactose tolerance led to much longer lifespans as well.

pasteurisation damages much of what makes milk so good for us.

white is good.

government is evil.

here's to no more waste of bandwidth and DRM laden site previews.

anything that fucks with my mood at 6am in the morning has to go, sorry, not sorry.

i learned how to stop coracle from loading previews of links.

so there won't be any more garbage from spotify clogging up my pc with privacy and security violating DRM no matter what you people post.

also not using the cdn cache for images anymore. i have a drm to shield my home IP from websites anyway.

as it was, i spent most of the lockdown period in bulgaria where enforcement was practically nonexistent and the people were all skeptical and many understood it was just a marketing campaign for poisonoous garbage.

it's a stupid idea, because basically they send you an encryption key to the media you are watching.

then they hijack your operating system to block you from accessing your own operating system.

ultimately it's easy to crack the encryption, firstly, and secondly, the compromise of the operating system is a security hole that eventually all hell is going to break loose through some day, inevitably.

DRM is an attempt to turn your pc into a television.

this is why web browsers suck.

even electron apps suck because of this, when they load web browser content.

i hate you all for being so stupid.

i dunno if there is any correlation but my computer started running like a shit when my browser loaded a note with a DRM enabled preview from spotify again, i had to force-kill the power and reboot.

it's making me remember i probably don't need to spend so much time on here, and that i definitely want to aggressively block this kind of garbage, and also why i am so annoyed to see that web browsers are the dominant form of UI projection system, which is full of security holes like DRM which took over my display pixels and blocked me from using screenshots and has driven me back off firefox onto chrome-backed brave.

so, rather than a GM, this morning you get a GFY

this made Brave show me a prompt to install the Widevine DRM. I said no, don't ask again.

it better not ask again.

I'm gonna nag everyone i see posting from spotify, that DRM was blocking me from accessing my own screen pixels with the screenshot tool.

the hippy movement and rock and roll are psyops. most "rockstars" are puppets who own none of the fancy shit they are paraded around in.

remind me again what is so great about rockstars? the cocaine? the limosines? the endless stream of groupies?

just remember if it makes you mad, first, breathe in, breathe out, and then calmly go and make things go the right way, and go back to your business. the real key is persistence. none of them can be as pig headed as a man who has decided.

see, training failure with the woman.

if you recognise that you are the one who is supposed to be coordinating everything so it runs smoothly you will regain your sanity.

just remember you are not 'the boss' but rather, the one who is genetically wired towards management.

if the wrong routine is happening, take over it, and then demonstrate how it works, and then firmly demand that this proper way of doing things is followed.

and again, and again, and never let up until they all buckle.

the moment you give in they will walk all over you.
