Bitcoin is for saving monero is for spending, if you care about your privacy. If you don't care than sure, keep using BTC exclusively.
According to the leaked Chainalysis video on their attempts to trace monero transactions, one of the things that can make an $XMR transaction stand out is if the fee is higher or lower than average. You can't see amounts of a monero transaction but you can see the fee. My question is, when using the standard Monero GUI wallet, is it better for privacy to use the default fee setting labeled "automatic" or the one labeled"normal x1"? I tried finding this out but can't find a clear answer anywhere, does anyone know? I'm assuming automatic is the best choice and that's why it's the default option but I'm not sure.

Someone forgot to tell Monero about the altcoin apocalypse we recently had. $XMR is like fuck that I'm too busy breaking out of a multi year range right now. Despite all the delistings, demand for XMR remains high because people actually use it.
All those people that just "stay humble, stack sats" wouldn't of even known we just had massive apocalyptic liquidations throughout the entire altcoin market. Bitcoin just stayed in its range and bounced off support. I dont understand people who hold alts but aren't in BTC in any meaningful sense.

The collapse of Thorchain / $RUNE is a good reminder that you need to carefully consider the risks of any yield opportunity for your Bitcoin. Is risking your stack worth a few percent or whatever the yield was in Thorchain for BTC? I looked awhile ago and don't think it was a lot.

Great discussion on the Tom Woods show about the Ross Ulbricht pardon and why the war on drugs is a complete failure. Trump seems to think if he just uses enough force against the cartels he can stop the flow of drugs, unfortunately all this will do is lead to even more death and the drugs will not stop.
The only effect that going to war with the cartels is going to have is possibly a temporary increase in prices, which would just incentivize more production.
Given that Trump broadcasted his intentions to lock the border down prior to the inauguration, I guarantee the cartels moved as much product across the border as they possibly could before he took office. There is probably enough cartel dope stashed within US borders to last them until Trump leaves office.
So no, I don't think designating cartels as terrorists and trying to shoot your way out of widespread drug addiction is going to work Mr. President.

Are your bags outperforming Bitcoin? In crypto we have a tendency to get married to our bags, and become community members rather than ever selling a position you are down on. The best advice I've seen recently is to pretend you were buying your positions today, be honest with yourself, would you buy the same bags?
If not, that means it's time to sell and buy something else. Instead of waiting and praying your bags go back up, reallocate that capital into something better. Even if you are down 90%, it's much better to take that remaining 10% and put it into a better performing coin.
There are so many opportunities every day in crypto, so the opportunity cost of holding on to dying coins is very high. The tricky thing is even dead or dying projects will pump occasionally and give people false hope that their bags are back, but then they will continue down.
Another important thing to consider is if you are outperforming Bitcoin or not by holding other assets. The USD price chart might look great, but if you can't outperform BTC there is no point in holding. The whole point is to stack as many sats as possible, after you pay your bills and shit, put your profits into BTC. This isn't financial advice I have no idea wtf I am talking about.

Iran rugged the Iranian people by manipulating the official exchange rate in the equivalent to stealing 23 billion in US dollars from their pockets. Alex Gladstein was on a podcast the other day and he claims 5.7 billion people live under authoritarian regimes! Most of the worlds people do not have access to stable currencies, sometimes you wake up and your money is worth much less than it was when you went to sleep.
We (me included) complain about inflation in the US dollar, but it's nothing compared to what much of the world experiences. This is why Bitcoin, Monero, and stablecoins are so important for the entire world. Crypto is so much more important than just memecoins.
We have to spread this technology far and wide so that everyone has access to good money. Money is literally the embodiment of your time and energy, governments shouldn't be able to steal that from you.
