It takes a surprising amount of boilerplate to get a Mac app up and running. With the boring setup out of the way it's time to see if I can get some event processing and display done.

What privacy problems do you see with iCloud? If you choose to encrypt your data not even Apple can access it. If you’re already using many emails than why is giving away an email when you create an account an issue?

Nah. Just use Hide My Email with iCloud and generate a new address for every account to keep everything sandboxed.

Devs, I need some advice. I’m trying to build a Nostr client as a learning experience. LMDB seems to be freaky fast in tests and practice with the strfry relay but SQLite is more widely used. Which would work better for storing and retrieving events in a client? Once I pick one how easy will it be to switch back?

Now this makes less sense. We’re on the same version. Hopefully another update fixes the app for me. Until then it’s back to regular Apple Podcasts.

What version are you using?

That may be my issue. I’m on 0.6.7. One of their updates must have broken the app. Since there’s no way to downgrade apps I guess I’ll have to wait for them to fix it in another update.

Well, it looks like you figured out the #[5]​ API and removed the quotes around the url. What took so much thought when it came to image hosting? Also, what are you using to create the Nostr events?
