Thanks Maria 🫂. It’s just a part of farm life but it always makes me a bit reflective.

I had to put a goat down this afternoon, which is never any fun. To lift some of the heaviness I thought I’d share one of my favorite pieces with you fine frens.

This is a Charter Arms Bulldog .44 special. Tried and true, extremely compact 5 shot revolver. The simplicity is so elegant to me. She shows the wear and tear of any piece that doesn’t live in a case, but is part of my everyday life, and collects the same bumps and bruises I do.

She belonged to the father of one of my best friends. He passed away and left it to my friend. My friend passed away about a year later at the age of 38 and she then became mine. She means an awful lot to me, we’ve been through trials and tribulations, the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, but she’s always right by my side and willing and able to do her job. I’ll take care of her, and I’m certain one day I’ll be gone and she’ll belong to someone else. I’m sure she’ll be as great of a sidekick to them as she is to me.

Anyway, hope y’all are having a great evening, and that you have trusted, tried and true partners in your lives as well!

Thanks man I feel like that’s good actionable advice. My long-term plan is to get a shop with an office and roll this number to a landline. Those suckers will never see it coming! Until then, I should probably work on what you suggested.

Haha. It’s tempting! But I’ve built a small business over the last 8 years that’s the sole bread winner for my wife and I using this number. Burning it isn’t an option right now. But there’s gotta be a better way…

We just eat lots of tallow, and cover up at some point if we’re in extreme sun all day. I don’t think you need expensive or even cheap sunscreen. And if you do get burnt, put tallow on it.

We’re smoked. Black squiggly is the lowest squiggly. Absolutely rekt.
