In reality there are many ways clients can be built and many ways they can be funded, that is a positive thing for Nostr. The issue I see is that many people don’t understand the tradeoffs and limitations that go along with the different approaches.
GM! 🫂☕️ I’ve was contemplating posting notes with my thoughts on this but sometimes it is better just to leave things alone.. 😂
I’m not entirely sure yet. I may end up going to the Big Bash cricket match that is on here (not really my thing but I am being talked into it!) and then watch the fireworks in the city afterwards.
Yeah I was just catching up on it.. I think funding is always going to be challenging for Nostr projects and I don’t know that there are any simple solutions.. I’ve recently subscribed or renewed subscriptions for projects that I want to support but funding from individual’s subscribing probably isn’t enough and there is only so much that people will be willing to spend on subscriptions..
GM! 🫂 How are you going to be celebrating New Years Eve?

Good morning!
It was a good day for it! I haven’t been there in a while but strath is a beautiful town.
Tonight’s walk
I saw the same result when I tested earlier by blocking access to their cache server with a firewall rule.
With three days left of 2024 it doesn’t look like I’ve got any chance of winning this! 😂 nostr:note17fwdeattkrx26cc5mm52wtzytaft0jdcn62w5jpnnywujxmt3zpsu9hjsr
It does still make connections to the relays I have configured but I’m guessing they may only be used for writing when posting a note.
Verified this myself. If I add a firewall rule to drop traffic to cache1.primal.net then Primal fails to load posts. This isn’t decentralized and would make it very easy to block Primal at an ISP level either by blocking DNS lookups for cache1.primal.net or blackholing the IP(s) it resolves to. nostr:note1apxc6nq35wn6lx59gewzgvtrwcv20u9njz38racuxw4mtm4vfnksnj92l3
Test. Ignore.
