Puzzled, I asked if she thought Palestine was funny. She said, "No, I laughed because it's in Tajik." She's Tajik. Shameful. 😔
I get followed frequently by accounts on Mastodon (especially when posting publicly) by profiles of Ghazans soliciting donations. I can't help but think they're all fake, just like I think all the Ukrainian accounts online trying to make money are actually run by Russians.

At least China calls Uyghur culture "Uyghur" instead of insisting that it's "Chinese", but calling Tajik things "Uzbek" is almost like calling Palestinian things "Israeli".
It's impossible to sugar-coat the fact that, since its inception, Uzbekistan was intended to be a genocidal project against the Tajiks. The erasure of Tajik culture and identity was one if its founding principles, and this project is still ongoing.
