Good question!

I tend to say no.

Here's a weekend read about it that might interests You:

https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/value-intrinsic-extrinsic/

I guess it's the same for me. The funny part: I post a picture in a reply myself and can't see that one either after posting it. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€£

https://nostr.build/ Use this to load Pictures and videos

Thanks! πŸ‘

I still don't understand why this isn't possible straight within the app.

Ok, these are things I'd like to do using #Nostr #Amethyst:

- Pasting a picture in a post without being asked to confirm that.

- Being able to see all pictures that others post. Right now, some keep loading and never show. And yes, I did setup enough relays.

- Being able to paste text in a post without selecting other text that is already there. One can't just paste.

- Being able to post a gif or a short video like other clients can do.

- Being able to get a reply in the private Amethyst group. So far my questions got deleted and no answers given.

This is the situation using amethyst right now. πŸ˜’

It's a classic, but still a good track!

It reminds me of my dad shouting at me: "Turn that stoompy stoompy music down!" πŸ˜‚

#NEWS #Breaking

The Mainstream Media:

So what is news anyway?

It's new information of any kind.

How do they came up with the word: 'NEWS'?

It stands for: North East West South. I bet that most people didn't even knew that.

Strategies that Mainstream Media use to manipulate the people:

Biased story selection

All these media companies choose which news stories are getting covered. If a certain agenda is being pushed, one can expect stories that are supporting that agenda to be covered a lot by that media company. Off course the opposite is true too; if something happens in the world that isn't supporting the narrative, than there won't be coverage of that.

Biased story telling

This is when a story gets covered, but the media company is knowingly and willingly leaving out facts that show all the information about this occurrence or topic. Often the parts that are supporting a narrative are over highlighted.

Biased typecasting

This is when a media company shows 2 sides of the story, for instance to broadcast 2 different video interviews that are opposing eachother, but then it shows clearly which of the 2 is to be believed. Like interviewing a well spoken professor, that has had media training and is prepared for the interview, about one side of the view, versus a poorly dressed person that is not used to do an interview and gets the mic and camera put into the face on the street without expecting or preparing for it.

And off course then there is straigh up lying which a lot of Mainstream Media is doing too nowaday's.

Because more and more people are getting aware of all of these intelectual dishonest strategies done by the mainstream media, they tend to not listen to them anymore. Social and Alternative media are used and being watched more and more. There one get to choose which topic interests one and who to listen to.

At this point, it's fair to say that Mainstream Media isn't mainstream anymore. The Legacy Media is a better term to call them.

As this trend continues and I think it will, these Legacy Media Companies will be gone in the future. A win for the people! πŸ˜‰

I spent the first 20 years of my adult life wasting it in "political action". I stood for parliament in New Zealand, was part of a group of three who wrote the founding philosophy of another party (still existing), and finally ended up forming my own party.

However, in the mid-90s, after reading "How I found freedom in an unfree world" by Harry Browne, I entered a period of intense self reflection which ended up with me abandoning political action completely. In fact, the last time I voted was in 1997.

Since then I have come to realise that democracy is a charade, a sham - a smoke and mirrors operation.

We are offered the opportunity to vote every three to five years, casting our lot for typically one of two political parties. The belief is that by doing so we have a meaningful say - via our elected representatives - in the future of our country.

Of course all this is tosh. It doesn't really matter who we vote for or which party wins. At the end of the day no meaningful change ever happens - just fiddling on the margins.

Over the years I have come to realise the real power is beyond public politics, beyond voting and beyond accountability. In particular, since Covid there has been an obvious global coordination of policy - at least in the West. None of this policy ever reaches the ballot box and changing parties doesn't undo any bad policy.

The most infuriating thing is how we are propagandised into believing we live in "free" societies when the truth is the absolute opposite.

The revolution must continue. It started with the separation of church and state. We are now in the separation of money and state phase, closely followed by the separation of communication networks and state.

But to be fully free we must also acknowledge that the way we are currently governed is unsustainable and contrary to all the requirements of a free society.

We live in exciting times.

Good explaination!

Those that are up to be elected, got to be first selected and there's the issue. πŸ‘

That's a possibillity. You'd have to do some transactions to yourself within monero to anonymise your coins. The swapping off course need to be done somewhere non-kyc.

However there are implications of doing this. Maybe this article explains that a bit for You:

https://www.wired.com/story/monero-privacy/

Good question! πŸ‘

Yes there is, I'll try to explain:

Let's say You do coinjoin now 5 times in a row. With each coinjoin there are in total 20 different participants, so per coinjoin You'll get an anonymity set of 20. After 5 times, You now have an anonymity set of 100. So far so good. But after a week, another participant of one of those coinjoins You've participated in, decides that he wants to sell his sats on a kyc exchange. By doing that, his sats are de-anonymised. But it has implications for your anonymity set too, because one of the coinjoin outputs got 'doxed', so effectively your anonymity set became 99 now. As You can imagine, over time more of those coinjoin participants do stuff with their coinjoined sats and are 'doxing' their sats, so your anonymity set decreases because of that over time, eventhough You didn't do anything with your coinjoined sats.

If You'd do again a coinjoin after 1 year and there are again 20 participants in that coinjoin, You are sure that You've got at least an anonymity set of 20 again per coinjoin at that moment again.

So as You might understand, getting privacy by coinjoining is one thing, but keeping privacy is another thing.

Also, if You get multiple outputs from a coinjoin, for instance 2 utxo's of 0.05 btc, never move them after a coinjoin to the same adress. Because by doing that, You'd show chain analyses companies that those 2 piles of sats belong to the same person which off course already decreases your anonymity set of your sats.

Let me know if this explainating made sense to You. πŸ˜ƒ
