When does one sell their ₿itcoin?

The answer is simple when something means more to them than their ₿itcoin.

I wanted to create a memory of my dad & I going to a track day together, racing motorcycles around the track, battling each other for a better lap time, stopping for lunch chatting about how each other is riding & all the rest of that jazz.

I have watched him race many times before, albeit only ever from the side line, with his health deteriorating fast to the point he may never get on another motorcycle again, I decided I needed to act quickly & I would sell some ₿itcoin to achieve this goal when I mentioned to him I wanted to buy a bike he told me I was "too old to learn how to ride a motorcycle".

That didn't stop me wanting to buy one, I decided I was going to ask for forgiveness instead of permission.

This didn't sit right with me though, so I told my father I'm buying a bike regardless, he said "ok if I can't stop you at least get a bike I want to ride as well & I'll go you half's". This was great I would only need to sell half as much ₿itcoin as I thought.

Although I couldn't shake the feeling of, in 4 or 5 years time I would look at the current ₿itcoin price and work out how much the bike actually cost me.

I then decided to play the fiat game & I would look at getting a loan for the bike.

When I was looking into loans, the companies that would be making money off the interest they charged me wanted to give me more money (so strange right?). I thought why not get more fiat, I took a loan out for the bike plus an extra amount which worked out the same as the price for the bike, I told my dad to keep his money I bought the bike and bought the equivalent amount of ₿itcoin.

The loan is for 7 yrs very typical. Now not only do I get to keep my original ₿itcoin, I got the motorcycle, I'm creating memories with my father before I can't anymore, and I also got to increase my stack.

I have something real, the bike.

I have something strategic, the ₿itcoin.

but most importantly,

I have something priceless, memories with my father.

Would you smoke weed in front of your kids?

I was confronted by my kids mother and she asked me if I smoked weed in front of our son. The truth is I have. He is 15 years old. I am of the opinion that being honest with our children helps us to be a better guide than gaslighting and hiding the truth. I have had many conversations with both of my teen kids about cannabis. We have talked about how it can be a great alternative to western medicine at times. We have talked about the power of intention when working with substances like cannabis. We have talked about the stigma that exists with something like cannabis even though it is legal. Is alcohol better? I really don't think so but I am sure that is up for debate. We have also talked at length about the traps that come with abuse of it. I have been vulnerable with them about my own addiction issues at times and where it has been a crutch for me. I believe our children learn more when we are vulnerable and seek to guide as opposed to attempting to control them. We were all 15 at one time and most of us have considered smoking pot and had it around us somewhere. At the end of the day, a young adult will make their own decisions anyways. I believe it is better to be an ally over an adversary. I would love to hear from others on here on how they would approach this.

I'm referring to the "stack friends who stack stats". Sounds like golddigger vibes to me. Not the type of thing of one who actually stacks $$ would want to be associated with. I’m a strong believer of not taking prescription medications of any kind, even antibiotics only in a worst case scenario, but hear adderall is popular with a lot of the ‘wannabe smart’ young, ‘high performing’, workaholics.. Not sure of the side effects, probably makes people a selfish asshole? 😄
