Read the intro and first essay this weekend. Very much looking forward to the rest. Expect it to end up right at the top with Broken Money.

While S1 had a magic to being introduced to the universe, the containment of the severed floor, and so much time with our favorite 4 refiners that can only exist in S1, S2 has been great in my opinion. The ORTBO, Gemma/Marks backstory, Milchik’s development and storyline, the dinner scene with Irving/Burt/Fields, Helena’s desire to be Helly, etc. I think the show is diving into human relationship to work, pain, consent, body in a very thoughtful way. Best show since Breaking Bad.

How anyone could believe this shit is beyond me.

And regarding all the commentary in wake of this — imo anything that does not include Palestinian self determination at the forefront is irrelevant.

This is what sold me. Alongside all of the education info and seemingly top of class transparency

“But when you reach a point in your life where you understand who is fucking who —beg pardon, Lord— who’s taking it and who’s not, that’s when your obliged to choose how much you’ll go along with. If you are not devoting every breath of every day waking and sleeping to destroying those who slaughter the innocent as easy as signing a check, then how innocent are you willing to call yourself? It must be negotiated with the day, from those absolute terms.” - Thomas Pynchon, Against the Day

Thank you for continuing to call this out. Trump is a grifter. Of course he would see the opportunity in crypto. The idea that he is a “Bitcoiner” is ludicrous. The unwillingness to admit this by so many Bitcoiners that I respect the opinions of and have learned from has me scratching my head in frustration and downright exasperation.

It’s obvious he doesn’t understand Bitcoin and what it is. Has anyone asked him what the supply cap is? Could he answer this question? Let’s start there.

Dune is about the extent of my sci fi along with a handful of Samuel Delaney shorts, but my partner loves Dhalgren and I’ve got it on my TBR for the year.

👌 I do not understand this delusion that Trump is some sort of free speech savior. Especially when you add in his (self stated) inclination to militarize the police/military against citizens if he deems it necessary. The Biden admin was terrible in regard to protests in support of Palestinian liberation, I’m afraid for what the Trump admin will do.

Just started Against the Day. Any Pynchon fans out here? #bookstr

I don’t think Trump is going to reduce the amount of money we spend on Defense (War) and I think militarization against citizens is likely to increase, he’s already suggested as much. They both score 0/2 for me.

I read Trump as pro-crypto and not pro-bitcoin. Launching his own crypto grift and continuing to talk about a strong dollar, he doesn’t understand what bitcoin is — yet.

nostr:npub164q45vfa8prpl7f63stsl9qm9n22v6julkasjdqxjc8kevchsj0sp42rl3 I can resonate with not knowing exactly what I am politically as a historic democrat voter, though that was predominantly voting against Trump 3 times.

I can distill it down to two simple things though: Anti-War (which includes domestic violence in increased police militarization and the carceral system) and Pro-Bitcoin (meaning promoting a censorship resistance P2P money that allows people to truly save their time and energy). It’s as simple as that for me right now.

The Biden administrations unequivocal and unconditional support for Israel’s genocide is what finally made me see they are no different than Republicans. War and Bitcoin are my primary concerns and Biden/Harris/Dems perpetuate destruction on both fronts. I’ll vote and speak out against Trump forever but Biden is/was a disaster and most of that was in the last ~year of his presidency. A Zionist through and through.
