Tim Shaddock and his dog, Bella, were rescued after spending two months adrift.
He had set off from the coast of Mexico in April on his catamaran, intending to sail to French Polynesia, thousands of miles to the west. But a few weeks into the journey, a violent storm knocked out the electronics on board.
Mr Shaddock, 51, managed to stay alive by catching and eating raw fish, collecting rainwater and sheltering from the sun inside the catamaran. He was eventually spotted by a helicopter that was operating with a tuna trawler and rescued after two months adrift.

It’s no mystery why a minority of kinky men want to ride roughshod over the hard-won dignity of women – that’s their kink. It’s the motivation of the Vichy Feminists that has always puzzled me. Those self-declared women’s rights activists who want rapists to be placed in female prisons and who are now attempting to justify women’s intimate anatomy being described as a collection of holes. Were they unpopular at school and are still trying desperately to get picked by the boys? Do they suffer from internalised misogyny? Are they just thick? No matter what the reason, what a worthless bunch of cowardly, treacherous Transmaids they are. Or – if they’re more comfortable with their own nasty vernacular – what a worthless bunch of bonus holes.

In short, we have become unable to distinguish between the terms “child” and “adult”, incapable of understanding that these are separate creatures with different needs and requirements. We think we are being kind, but in truth we are being lazy, delusional and neglectful.

This is the guy who reportedly threatened his neighbour with a chainsaw and told the police he just happened to be carrying it around with him.
I had a nasty minute thinking he was indeed going to sniff / pee every single one of them, but he got bored after the first half dozen.
I’m really not sure. Some people say he’s all bark, some people say he has actually harmed people. He’s certainly well known to the police, and I think he has been done a few times.
I’m pleasant to him but try to keep the interactions to a minimum. He’s always nice as pie to me because I’m one of the few people who will give him the time of day.

In the report, Prof Bailey concluded that young girls reported feeling ‘pressured’ into receiving medical transition treatments, including drugs to block puberty, after suffering Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria (ROGD). ROGD is where children, mostly girls, with no history of gender dysphoria suddenly declare they want to transition to the opposite sex.
Prof Bailey has long argued ROGD is caused by peer pressure and says doctors encourage drastic medical interventions, including mastectomies, which the girls later regret.
Anyone familiar with the controversy over transgender medicine knows what is going on. Activists put pressure on Springer to retract an article with conclusions they didn’t like, and Springer caved in. We’ve become accustomed to seeing these capitulations in academia, media and the corporate world, but it is especially disturbing to see in a respected medical journal.
Rather than appreciate the long-term risk to itself and the scientific community from doing the bidding of activists, Springer has instead agreed to evaluate and retract all survey papers that lack the newly required consent. If Springer follows through on its promise, hundreds of authors who chose to publish in Springer’s journals may have their research retracted.
I stopped to say hello to Dog Treat Lady, and while we were chatting her creepy neighbour walked up with his yappy dog and just stood there on the property boundary, waiting for me.
So I came home the other way instead. I don’t mind being polite to him — he can be seriously nasty when people get on the wrong side of him — but he will keep lurking waiting for me and then try to have a conversation while his dog is yapping and Dog is going insane trying to kill it.
Plus, I just know I’d have got a rant about how evil Dog Treat Lady is, and she’s actually an absolute sweetheart.
He’s a walking example of “if everyone around you is the problem, maybe you are the problem”.
