I am 31yo. My goal in life is to live well, be happy and grow to be my best self by the time I am 40. So that then I can take the rest of my time at peak.
So I study, I read, I educate myself. I exercise, I cook and I eat well.
All of those things are painful. They are challenging and the body and mind recoil initially, because why would you willingly expose yourself to changing your mind under new information, or changing your body on new effort.
But on the back of that effort comes gains. Comes a better outcome than you had before.
You go down so you can come up and reach a higher height, and your average then improves.
So yes, chase that hedonistic pleasure. But expose yourself to some pain.
