It works fine already now. Not important but nice to have bucket items:

- scheduling for later posting (or reposting)

- char count indicator

- save as draft (even templates later)

I have been wondering the posting usually happens only to 2 or 3 relays but not more since I should have close to ten. Would be great to see if the client is offline (or not able to connect to relays.)

— unrelated—

For the reading side:

- RSS-feeds would be nice. (Regular blogpost type of feeds but why not also Mastodon instances). This could be a read-only feature so no nostr-bridge required.

- Twitter feed via fxtwitter.com API

- Maybe Farcaster / Bsky at some point as well.

Yes. Evans lives in the UK (as far as I know) so he choosing Threads is really telling. Linkedin is no place for discoverability of your content.

Most of his following has come from Twitter and he was really active.

Early users with large accounts are leaving. Evans was almost from the beginning on Twitter.

It’s dire when your choices are Threads (not accessible in the EU) or Linkedin.

https://njump.me/ links make great Twitter previews:

An easy way to check nostr links and addresses if you ever happen to find yourself with neven1 or npub etc. and don’t know how to open it.

Partly it's the business model (ad model), partly ethics and morals in the news aggregation, analysis and opinions.

But there's another aspect that's relevant which is information sourcing. Where the real news is and how they are told. I touch that as well.

Now, it's broken. Twitter used to be the place for everyone to share what they see if they find themselves in the middle of current events.

We don't have a place for that at the moment. The info sources are gone.

Global information sourcing is broken. News have been broken for a long time.

The alternatives are not in place yet. It's not a technical problem but a network effect tragedy.
