'This Is My Glasgow' is a photographic project from Colin M. Drysdale, author of 'Glasgow Uncovered: 18 Walks Through its Past, Present and Future' - available from all good bookshops. Unless otherwise stated, all photos are my own.

Love the shapes of these windows on a late 19th Century blonde sandstone tenement on Butterbiggins Road in the Govanhill area of Glasgow.

I love this mural by Smug on Mitchell Street in central Glasgow, and I've been known to spend way too much time waiting for some unsuspecting person to be pass through exactly the right spot to take a photo of it!

Absolutely love these heads on Langside Halls in Glasgow, scuplted by John Thomas in the mid-1800s. They represent four of the great rivers of Britain (possibly the Thames, Tweed, Severn and Humber). There's also a fifth head representing the Clyde.

The entrance to the main office of the former Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company in Govan, Glasgow. It was designed by John Keppie and was built in 1891.

The former Glasgow Paramount Cinema on Renfield Street. Opening in 1934, it was designed in an Art Deco style by Frank T. Verity and Samuel Beverley, and it was their only cinema in Scotland. The cinema finally closed in 2003.

Love this stained glass above the entrance to Waterstones on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow. This building started its life as a warehouse before being converted into the La Scala cinema in 1912 by Duff and McKissack. As far as I can work out, the stained glass dates from this original conversion.

The main entrance to the Glasgow City Chambers in George Square. Designed by William Young, it was built in the 1880s in a mix of Italianate, Roman, Venetian and Flemish styles.

I love the hidden connections which is exist between Glasgow's sculptures. For example, these three sculptures can be found on 200 Saint Vincent Street and were carved 30 years apart.

The top one is of Saint Andrew and was created by Archibald Dawson in the 1920s. Dawson wasn't paid for his work on this building and as a result instructed one of his apprentices, Andrew Wilson, to carve the letter IOU (hidden on the sail of a ship) on one of the columns beside the building's entrance.

The former Blind Asylum on Castle Street in Glasgow. It was designed by William Landless in a Free Revivalist style and constructed in the 1880s. The Glasgow Blind Asylum was founded in 1804 to provide education and training to blind peope so they could earn an independent living. This included training them to be musicians and teaching them trades.

The verdigris-covered dome and golden finials of Ocean Chambers on West George Street in Glasgow have a special place in my heart. They are one of the first architectural features I remember looking at in Glasgow when I was young and thinking 'Wow, that's amazing!'.

Anyone fancy dinner round at the MacKintosh's?

The preserved dining room of the house where Charles Rennie MacKintosh and Margaret MacDonald lived in the west end of Glasgow.

What always strikes me when I visit this house is how modern the interior feels, even a century after it was created

A view along Robertson Street in Glasgow, with J.A. Campbell's A-Listed 1901 rather beautiful Glasgow Style Office building lying abandoned and derelict amongst the new developments of the city's International Financial Services District.

I love these Green Men carvings which are all over James Miller's 1904 Underground Station in Saint Enoch Square in Glasgow. They're one of those things which always makes me smile when I pass them.

Commercial chambers on West George Street in Glasgow. Designed by Jame Thomson in a Renaissance style and built in the 1870s, this is one of those Glasgow buildings which somewhat overshadowed by a larger and grander neighbour, but it's also a beautiful building in its own right.
