Bootscarpers of Pollokshields in Glasgow.

These pieces of street furniture would have once been found at the entrance to most town houses and many tenement closes. You can still find them outside buildings across the city, but the design in the bottom left is not one I've seen elsewhere. Thanks to Harjam10 on Twitter for bringing it to my attention.

This is an elegantly simple little building at 14 Bath Street in Glasgow. Unusually, it seems to have retained its original ground floor windows and has some great detailing around the second floor ones. I haven't been able to find out who designed it or when it was built, so if any one knows, please let me know.

The Vogue Cinema on Main Street in Rutherglen.

This Art Deco cinema was designed by James McKissack and opened in 1936 with a seating capacity of 1,750. It closed as a cinema in 1974 and is currently lying unused and empty.

The Scots Baronial splendour of Overtoun House on the edge of the Kilpartrick Hills to the west of Glasgow. It was designed by James Smith and was built in the 1860s.

Art Deco style sculpted panels by Archibald Dawson representing Industry, Prudence, Thrift, and Courage. They can be found on the facade of the 1927 Scottish Legal Life Assurance Society building on Bothwell Street in Glasgow.

Ocean Chambers, 190 West George Street Glasgow.

This gorgeous building was designed in a Free Classical style by Robert Bryden and was built in 1899. It's home to Glasgow's only pair of walruses (in the relief by an unknown sculptor over the door!).

I absolutely love this sculpted nameplate on Baltic Chambers in Glasgow. It was built in 1897 in the Free Clasaical Style from a design by Duncan McNaughtan, but there is a strong Art Nouveau/Glasgow Style influence in the font used for the lettering and for the stunning stained glass windows above it.

The New Club, West Geogre Street, Glasgow.

Designed by James Sellars in a French Classical style, with sculptures by William Mossman, this beautiful building was constructed in 1879. I particularly like the oval windows on the ground floor.
