I thrive in incomprehensibility.

What is the US dollar backed by?

It's backed by the promise that we, and our children and grandchildren and great grandchildren will be salves.

Plain and simple.

The first step to an better future is self-responsibility and accountability. -Jack Mallers

Wow, 'the Olympics' have really gone to shit in the 40 years since I stopped paying any attention to them. This being a 'sport' may be the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time.

Go Eagles!

Yes, those eagles.

Speech bubble might be even better.

This one dates back to Glen Tate and the 299 Days series. It was a slogan he imagined the 'freedom loving americans' might spray paint on the walls of government buildings...

"What government does is spend their time and our money convincing us to convince them to do what they want to do."

On X you are the PRODUCT. YOU are what they sell.

Bonhoeffer's theory of stupidity covers this. And stupidity is her livelihood.

"Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. Against stupidity we are defenseless. Neither protests nor the use of force accomplish anything here; reasons fall on deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s prejudgment simply need not be believed – in such moments the stupid person even becomes critical – and when facts are irrefutable they are just pushed aside as inconsequential, as incidental. In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self satisfied and, being easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack"

It's funny, you'd think as you acquire more of something over time, you'd be MORE effected when it's 'price' drops.

"But time makes you bolder..." (or would that be bodler?)

Instead I've 'lost' 15% of my accrued value, and I'm just elated that I've already made $14 on the dip.
