Nice, I'm researching it myself and was contemplating the idea of assembling one myself but it's quite a challenge
Did you make it yourself or bought assembled one?
You kinda hinted the answer. Choosing a peer to open channel with kinda depends on the reasons for opening a channel.
If you want to use you node and channel for sending and receiving sats you wanna open channels to well connected nodes
If you want to forward payments you need to use a bit of voodoo magic to figure out how to position your node in the great scheme of things
There are sink nodes - the ones that mostly receive sats (merchants, exchanges etc.) but the challenge is to figure out which nodes have good sending potential
And off course you can always rebalance channels by sending through one channel and receiving through another

For reference, total annual revenue in 2023 was 4.4 T
So, 22% of income goes to pay the interest
When you look at the chart one must think - this is a bubble and it's going to burst because this is not sustainable - but, if you know the math you know that there is literally no way out of this mess except to make every living soul on earth as poor as church mouse
Is there a way out for drunken sailors?
Print like there's no tomorrow to pay the debt with new debt and make everyone as poor as church mouse though debasement and inflation because high inflation will raise nominal GDP and lower the debt/GDP ratio
