Centralization is the name of the game. As much as we all hate banks, I believe a diverse banking sector with thousands of small banks (like the US has, albeit it's losing it) is much better than a few-and-large one. Cantillionares probably think the other way around.
In Europe we are already fucked with a terrible power concentration in a few monster banks.

I've found that many of us, specially the technically inclined, forget about the massive IT ignorance of the common folk.
How is my grandma suposed to understand deeply the difference between a binance account and a sparrow wallet? For her, it's all numbers in a screen. Without understanding things like client-server architecture or basic of cryptography, it becomes very hard to use Bitcoin properly without somebody taking you by the hand on each step.
I am very excited about this. If ecash allows for real-time auditing of custodians, it would be like an earthquake that completely modifies the landscape of non-custodial vs custodial trade-offs.
What are the main challenges, obstacles or design flaws that you are facing?
Not that I know of. There's a Bitcoin community that does discuss and use nostr intensively tho #[2].

People who taunt purity values on how to custody Bitcoin while ignoring the realities each individual faces when it comes to using Bitcoin are big mouthed ignorants.
They would do themselves and the world a favour if they instead empathized custodial services users, tried to understand their experiences and offered a helping hand.
