Always do your own research. Not saying trusted sources can be deceitful, but realistically nobody gets everything right every time and may simply miss the point on a bad day. House of Dynamite- good movie, but I didn’t enjoy it. Humans are so easily herded into destructive and exploitative systems by a few. Obviously a movie, but when tbe writing was on the wall nobody seemed to worry about themselves, first thought was to family and millions about to be nuked. All playing a really pointless game where the cost of an error or calling a bluff is extortionately costly. If Bitcoin can defund those war games, the world will be a better place not playing Russian roulette for peace..

Gotta love perplexity ai - If I were a 12-year-old looking at a hundred years of taxation experience, I might conclude this about the intelligence of the UK’s recent Capital Gains Tax changes:
It seems like the government went out of its way to catch more people in the tax net by lowering the threshold for how much gain you can make before paying tax. So, more people now have to report small gains they wouldn’t have worried about before. But despite all this extra work—more forms, more checks, more surveillance—the total money they actually get from this tax has gone down.
That would make me wonder if these changes were smart or just complicated things without getting much back in return. It feels like the government made everyone work harder but didn’t necessarily get more money. Maybe they didn’t think hard enough about how people might hide their gains or stop selling things to avoid paying tax.
So from a kid’s perspective: it looks like a lot of hassle for little reward. Maybe smarter ways exist that catch the big earners without making so many others suffer the paperwork.
In simple terms: lowering the bar made the tax system busy, but didn’t really fill the government’s piggy bank more than before. That’s not very clever for a system that’s been around for a long, long time.
Kids’ reality is being restricted before their eyes by restrictive state education and social media. Curiosity killed the cat and it’s been slowly asphyxiating adults too - no info outside the first page of google exists. At least Nostr seems to be full of curiosity.
