Person who makes things.

It’s much like your project NostrPlebs where you have rules to access features or join a relay, etc., and those rules are hosted on the NostrPlebs server. So you might say, “you can access a relay or start a nest as long as you’ve purchased a nostrplebs nip5.” And here, I would say, “you can access a relay or other products by showing social proof of work according to these certain rules.” They’re different approaches to filtering out noise, but the same technically. Hope this helps!

Hey! Great question! It’s priority 3. 😅 I have to get extensions working in chrome. But some super talented devs are ready to do a POC for the relay/NotABot integration. Part of the work I’m doing now will enable that.

In the meantime, just keep getting people through the door. Make connections, help others see how it’s done, and get those reciprocations. 🤙

Thank you for asking this question politely. 😁 Not yet. I’m considering if, when, how (which license) to do it. Nostr puts us devs in a position to build businesses without all of the friction of the fiat rails. So us early devs are also tasked with learning how to do that. NotABot is a service really, so right now I want to focus on making it as good as possible. More so than managing a repo. But that day may come soon and I’ll be very appreciative for any contributions.

Most of the code is typical react with a ton of data wrangling. I’ll be writing up a NIP to describe the process I use to do verifications if one doesn’t already exist by the time I get to it. Its very similar to badges but allows for meta data and rescissions. It’s pretty cool and I’m looking forward to getting feedback and contributing it to the protocol so other peeps can build things with it. Again, if somebody else doesn’t do it first. This space moves fast.

I’ll also be starting a show called NostrAndChill that will focus on all of these topics, but especially technical ones.

Yep. I just verified you, so you can now verify somebody else. Figuring out how to do this four more times takes some doing. 😁

Hi Maya… As the dev, I assure you your keys are being used exactly how I describe below the sign-in form. You’re totally good. They are kept in your browser’s local storage while you’re signed in and are removed when you sign out.

That being said, it is always best to use a signing extension on any Nostr site or app. I’ve suggested to BTCSessions that he make some videos showing people how to set up extensions, and I hope he does. That way you don’t have to wonder, and I don’t have to feel my heart sink a little bit every time I read a message like this.

I just want to build cool things that people have fun using. So please rest easy, use an ext., and have a good time. 😊

If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Keep Nostr Fun! PV 🤙

I don’t want to answer too hastily, so when I get a moment, I’ll look into it. It’s a perfectly valid question though. We really need to make sure what we’re recommending is actually good practice. For nostr to grow, we need key management/signing that is safe and easy. That’s for sure. Something like #[7] ‘s NostrPass could be the ticket. It’s an oAuth like solution.

Awesome. Thanks for bearing with me man. I appreciate it

#[0] Is there any chance you’ll be doing walkthroughs on how to setup the various Nostr signing extensions? I know you covered Alby on Chrome. There are also iOS/Safari/Nostore, Android/Kiwi/Nos2x, Firefox/Nos2x-fox, etc.

Not having an extension installed really creates a lot of ux/security friction for web apps. Plus they aren’t always straightforward to set up. If more people knew how to use them, it would greatly help Nostr Web App adoption.

As a dev, I don’t want to handle anybody’s keys, but I also can’t be people’s nanny and frankly some people just don’t care about their keys and they’d rather put them in their browser’s local storage than figure out on their own how to use an extension. I think you could really help get some people over that hump.

Anyway… That is my long-winded plea. 😁 Thanks for all your great work! 🙏

That’s the second report of Brave not working. Thank you. I definitely need to make sure it works there. Sorry fren. Please let me know if you find something that works for you. On Android apparently the Kiwi browser supports Nos2x. And on iOS there is Safari with Nostore.

Solid, solid crew sir. Allow me to bring it home. 🤙

Mind if I ask which browser nos2x wasn’t working on? Bc that’s what I use and it does fine. Even on Firefox for me.

Nos2x works for me and many others. I use Mac though. Are you on Windows? Let’s troubleshoot it together.

Sometimes a page refresh is all that’s needed for the app to pick up window.nostr if the extension was activated after page load.

You definitely shouldn’t. Extensions are supported. The field is there for those who don’t care or don’t wanna bother with extensions. This is explained just below the sign in. 🤙

10500 sats to a designer or Midjourney poet who can create a badge worthy of #[0] His accomplishment was that he was the first fully verified NotABot. 🎉🙌

Srsly. This frog will do anything for a sweet badge.

Ser Sleepy picks the winner. I pay the invoice. ✌️

Just need a link to a 1024 x 1024 image uploaded to nostr.build.

I won’t roll out other badges on NotABot until I give the badge haters a way to opt out. 😁

What is https://NotABot.net ?

The Purpose: Join a relay of fully verified NotABots. All humans. No spam bots. 🫂 *Setting this relay up is next on the list. I’m just one dude. 😅

The Objective: To become a Fully Verified NotABot.

The Way: Receive 5 verifications. Give 5 verifications. Make sure they’re all reciprocal.

The Strategy: GLHF

The Cost: Mine verifications with social proof of work. If zaps emerge, keep it fair and reasonable. Let’s not let our beloved zaps detract from the social signal. 🫂 will keep the signal stronger than ⚡️ IMO, but it’s all human coordination and cooperation. It’s all valid.

Reputation matters. Confidence scores will be a thing. Don’t be the one to invite the bots. Your verifications can always be rescinded. 🫥 (Yes! I finally found a use for that emoji!)

The Challenge: We are used to apps bending over backwards to make it easy for us to join using high time preference tactics and instant gratification. Not here. 😂 We all want you to make it in. But like all good things, it’s gonna take some effort. Be patient. Never feel rejected. If are not a bot, we will make sure you have a path in. Reach out if you’re having a tough time in this regard. I never want anybody to feel less than because of something I’ve built.

The Beauty: Inclusivity 💜

Gn nostr land 🌙 Thanks for being awesome 💜
