I’m exploring with nostr:npub1864jglrrhv6alguwql9pqtmd5296nww5dpcewapmmcazk8vq4mks0tt2tq and nostr:npub15xd2mmjnh3caykh77djsv73e0zkrp42jp5mwerx8f4m6su40wdvss7t3l3, I’ve got this dream of taking my family on vacation with the next bull run and trying to get them to experience actually using bitcoin. Thinking I can set them up with “vacation spending” accounts through LNbits and things like nostr:npub1mayqdaq0sd5f4uexa6aky3agr982vhqs3rw7qwm6yr9h5zetdg4q4shl50.

They are getting a little older so places with good hotels/accommodations would be more enticing for them.

Not necessarily, depends on how you set it up.

If you’re hosting a store for someone else, I would create a specific store for that person in btcpay (you can have multiple), and add them as the owner. You could have a profile to access the store too if needed.

Then on that persons phone configure tailscale and bookmark the ip:port for the btcpay app. They will open just that app and login with their created profile.

Even if they try to access something else by entering the ip without port, they will need to pass the umbrel login screen to use anything else.

Yep couple options. Through umbrel you’ve got your login (and I would always use 2fa) to limit access.

Within btcpay specifically you can set user profiles with different permissions. For example an employee login having different capabilities than the business owner.

With tailscase the ip address for a specific app on umbrel has the port number included. You could save the app page as a bookmark, connect tailscale, open bookmark and login with any btcpay user profile.

If you’re running umbrel the easiest option is Tailscale. Download the app on your node and phone, it uses a vpn tunnel for remote access.

Tailscale will assign an ip address to umbrel, as long as the vpn is connected you can use that address to open the umbrel dashboard in any web browser.

There’s tons of options, chain or LN or both. Can design the pos page and available items etc, but the store website is hosted elsewhere.

It helps to download it and explore all of its capabilities. You can do a lot.
