While not done, the new protest.net site is online. The goal is to create a space for activists and organizers to build movements on top of a censorship resistant open decentralized protocol, nostr.

I’m working on relaunching my activist calendar website protest.net. One thing I need is a good set of instructions for non-technical users on how to create an nsec, add the protest.net relay, add the nsec to a browser extension, so they can actually use the nostr apps we’re running. The question is, which how to guide for this about Nostr is best to link to?

Nostr is better as an API than as a protocol. It might end up as either. If it's an API it doesnt need to scale, because it inherits scale from http. So you use the API and are happy. I think that's where it will end up, but it could go either way. Both are good outcomes.

El presidente de El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, a través del Ministerio de Economía, presentó ante la Asamblea Legislativa un proyecto con el que busca reformar la Ley de Emisión de Activos Digitales promulgada el año pasado y que también modificaciones en la aplicación de la Ley Bitcoin.

⚖️ La Comisión Nacional de Activos Digitales sería la entidad encargada de aplicar la nueva Ley Bitcoin. Hay un anexo con nuevas obligaciones que deberán cumplir los exchanges que, entre otras cosas, tendrán que estar registrados e implementar medidas de antilavado de dinero.

📄 El proyecto establece normativas preventivas para reducir los riesgos en el mercado e incrementa sanciones a quienes operen sin autorización. De hecho, aplica el congelamiento de fondos y el secuestro de bienes, en caso de que se detecten irregularidades.

👀 El nuevo proyecto de Bukele llega pocos días después de que el Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI) destacara avances en las conversaciones con el Gobierno de El Salvador.
