Spam is not a threat to #Bitcoin

outline and planning.

chatgpt needs all your requirements well documented, you can't just start asking for shit, its gonna make up what it hasn't been told is your goal. Typically devs don't plan because they have to learn the plan as they develop the real requirements as they go along.

llms work best with too much input and if you already know 99% of the tech stack and patterns and deployment env. you'll use.

they save you the typing, not the knowing what is needed.

What stops them today is this default. What stops them after is desire and incentives and sunk costs. The more apps that build around this, the worse it is to get them to fix it.

It's highly likely to be a 'Mainframe' db. The option to use a relational model and SQL script is available once IBM db2 was introduced but it's very likely these systems are older than that and are not using second generation upgraded options.

And it benefits everyone if there's no clean way to cross reference and identify fraud, so yeah, why upgrade? Unlike in a business, where it benefits the shareholders to cut fraud and control expenses.

I don't disagree with a very legal and open drug policy, but that's not the problem. The problem is that on the Mexican side of the border, the criminal organizations are in power and no amount of legal competition in the drug trade is going to fix that without the Mexican government having the incentives to secure that area.

It is mostly impacting Americans and their streets, so Mexico looks the other way. It costs too much pain at home to fix. America should have declared these criminal armies a threat many many decades ago. Like other non-national threats, if the local government isn't going to do anything about it, America will just walk right in and do something about it.

Also, no one wants Fentanyl. It is used to dilute the real drugs. It's fake chinese drugs, like other fake chinese products. Why do we want these in America, even if you want legal drugs? We want American drugs, good ones, legal ones.

It's crazy that Mexico has ceded the north of their sovereign territory to gangs and criminals. It wouldn't be so hard to stop fentanyl if Mexico fulfilled its responsibilities in governing and securing its territory.

Indeed. They are taxes that raise revenue the same as the other taxes but they unavoidably benefit the workers of America who will see additional jobs and local value-add industry creation.

All things being equal, less taxes is better but after 50 years of globalism and hollowing out of America's middle class and middle fly-over country, I'm into taxes that benefit America against a world of nationalist populists who took advantage of the US in globalism's name to benefit their own workers and industry.

This game exists, we need to play it instead of pretending we're above it to our own disadvantage.

While a 'progressive' tax system sounds like an enlightened thing it is ultimately a way to give someone power to manage outcomes.

The power enable tax policy to choose winners and even punish political opponents with disruptive audits, as we've seen this very election cycle is the great evil of this system.

While it sounds like the poor people get ripped off here, the rich people actually have less power in a national sales tax. With a complex administrative tax regime, wealthy people can afford to find and arrange their assets to avoid the taxes. Poor people cannot, even if the tax code is structured to be kinder to them, they don't have the means to work that system, when they don't have the resources or expertise to do so.

A national sales tax would be difficult to game, if done correctly, and placed on all goods, not just retail goods, but also homes and other investments and high frequency trading, etc.

If it was truly universal, it would give rich people no real options. Pay the tax or don't buy assets/don't cash out gains. There's no way to trick a system that's that simple and universal.

There will be some people who are not immediately better off. We should consider all time ahead of us, and not specific individuals alive today. Of course, I don't have to get elected, so....

People really don't want to do business in Bitcoin units because Bitcoin is not the only money out there, and never will be. It cannot ever be the only money by way of it's open source. It was copied immediately.

It will always be preferable to spend the bad money, take loans for it, make contracts to pay people months and years in advanced in bad money.

We will probably always be looking to spend some stable-coins, preferably decentralized autonomous stable-coin type things from locking up Bitcoin on lightning somehow. Like the money we have now is borrowed-dollars coming from real bond assets being locked up.

Bitcoin is replacing bonds, not dollars. The dollar's current global power comes from the bonds, not the token that spends.

If you want to evade taxes to prevent the government from having that power to spend, you don't need people to accept Bitcoin, you just need them to accept decentralized payment rails. You need to use decentralized stable-coins and then you're as anonymous as can be, in the payment, but the vendor gets dollars back to a USD bank account without the privacy leak for you.

You're not wrong, but Bitcoin is like a gun. It's not really super useful as an individual, alone, if your threat model is the massive government you live under.

It's about cost-benefit, and we win this calculation.

So what, if they know where we all live. They have to come confiscate it. If they want to spend their resources confiscating, they will take from Blackrock and Coinbase and real sovereign Bitcoin owners will be far too expensive to attack in aggregate.

Be expensive to steal from! It's so easy. Make an exit plan, like if you were living in Syria or something. Guess what, they can't stop you. That's why they won't come for you.

Like trying to squeeze water, it will escape through your fingers. They'd rather have your sales taxes and none of your Bitcoin than to see you escape entirely.

Don't stick your head out, and be the first target, but there is no hope for the State in your proposed scenario. Let them come. They make it obvious their weak position when they do. This isn't 1933 where the only people who understand money and gold and realpolitik of international political and banking relationships were insiders and experts.

If you prepare for conflict, you prevent it. Bitcoin is maximum preparation. Come what may, I have the options.

too perfect, prove you're not a robot

Most people want to think their Doctors are this ethically pure, like wonderful life saving, selfless person.

Man, they became a Doctor to get money and status. They're monkeys, like us. They're meeting Mommy and Daddy's expectations.

Doctors are people too. They've just spent alot more time studying and doing what the 'establishment' tell them to do. They are in bubbles, like everyone, and have their own interests and incentives and bias. That bias is dangerously predetermined by schooling and insurance policies. (They like to get paid.)

They go along to get along with poisoning and farming the public for healthcare income.

I think I posted the first Roll Tide on NOSTR, last year.

You're not describing a State, you're describing a culture. One that respects the property rights of others. The protocol to enforce this requires neighbors and militia, self interested in mutual protection. A State can enforce this protocol, draft its citizens, tax and spend, but it doesn't have exclusive ability to accomplish this.

We do all want such a community to exist within, but assuming a State as the only technological means of collective organization assumes there must be something, ie the State, ABOVE the individuals. This permits it to prioritize itself. It's existence must be, before peace can be. This is not so. This prioritizes the State over the people and the individuals. This inevitably corrupts every state, everywhere.

The argument, as I read it, is this. 'State' as a word, as a concept, is dated. It assumes itself, technologically, in order to organize people into peaceful coexistence. That is a lie. We organized before we made a State. The State is a technology, nothing more. It was the best we had and so it has been seared into our minds as foundational. It is not. The Nations of peoples, our tribal allegiances, and our mutual interests are foundational. The State is just tech we use and it does so much harm with this idea that it must always be, that we solved this problem 500 years ago with modern nation states and to ever be without an authority over us, is impossible.

We must strive to be Nations, not States. People before and above any organizational principle or protocol, adopted with Consensus, with liberty to divide, to fork off, to be free of capture and enslavement to a secular majority or oligarchy of the State.
