interesting question, probably the former I would think
yeh, you can add a federation and by default use that, no channel open fees needed. anything under 200k automatically goes to the fedimint as well if you don't have enough inbound, instesd of incurring fees to open a new channel. they mentioned today allowing users to toggle that number in a future release
short answer is yes
but you can swap to self custody at anytime for a negligible fee :)
I prefer play storeπ
100% agree, I'm creating a bitcoin circular economy in my household 1 by 1πππ
ln addresses are currently paywalled behind a 16000 sat payment, but they will be made free in a few months once tested a bit more iiuc
mutiny is great, they got self custodial ln addresses now working with fedimint. obviously regular invoice send + receive is there, barely any payments fail for me if any at all, and their NWC implementation is great, whwre you can have paymwnrs auto approve if they're under a certain budget that you set. would definitely give it a go :)
when I explained it to them they legit were like "ok and?"π
after onboarding my siblings to mutiny today, they both ended up with npubs, I think a lot of people are going to start using nostr without even realising it.
imagine what happens when those people realise all these new apps will be interoperable! I'm always excited for cool tech getting into the hands of "normies" but they never seem to care themselves πππ
yeh, I think this is what we will do tomorrow, I'm pretty sure the lightning address from mutiny will carry over bt need to double check :)

100% expect my help in 3 ISH weeks, I use GrapheneOS so will be good to test on there as well with things like MTE enabled :)

i haven't touched rust but I wanted to learn it, just didn't up being on my uni course. once I graduate I will happily get into rust since everyone seems to love it π
my thesis was on machine learning models so it was very python based, I've used python, java, c++, scala, and flutter
not having damus android haunts me in my sleep every nightπππ
I graduate next month and will have a lot of free time on my hands, if you want help I can contribute from then!
