What’s ā€œBitcoin Weedā€?

Highly recommend this episode of Freakonomics to those interested in the Ukraine discussions in the White House.

ā€œAnd the American people haven’t been told how serious these risks are. Putin calls the United States Russia’s enemy. J.D. Vance was asked recently would he call Russia an enemy? And he said no. Well, Putin calls you an enemy.ā€

Ah yes, the same Hydro Quebec that banned Bitcoin mining?

That’s so stupid. Quebec is using almost 100% renewable energy. They could be a pioneer supporting environmentally friendly Bitcoin operations.

But no. They would rather miss out on the revenue and send miners next door in jurisdictions that don’t use clean electricity. The result is that Hydro Quebec doesn’t get the money, miners will still mine, and the world is more polluted as a result of Hydro Quebec’s stubbornness.

Many need to see this.

So much hate everywhere. These days we can’t even be friends with people who have a different political view point than you. Ugh.

Bitcoin is up almost 10% in the last 8 hours.

Focus on the positive! šŸ˜€

It’s sad that social media has come to this. Can we go back to the good old days of MySpace and Facebook circa 2007.

In your second cycle, the price will drop from 250k to 200k in a few weeks and you’ll be like ā€œI bought for less than 100k, I’m still in the green šŸ¤™ā€.

Now I magine in a few cycles when Bitcoin drops from 1.3M to 1M.

The first circle is always the most difficult!

Yet people say it has ā€œnO rEaL uSe CaSeSā€.

There’s something magical about their circular price charts. So pretty, and clear at the same time.

Now we just need to get to the outer ring!

250,000 people in Canada signed a petition to revoke Elon Musk’s Canadian citizenship.

There’s no provisions in Canadian immigration laws that allows this, so a new law would be needed.

Basically that means some Canadians want new legislation that would allow the government to revoke people’s citizenships because some people don’t agree with them?

That’s crazy!

I’d rather live with a few people I may not agree with than give the government the authority to just revoke people’s citizenship.

That’s ā€œfake newsā€. The chart is real but China announced 2 months ago they were going to change the methodology on how they count the number.

In addition to bull markets and bear markets, can we get Hippopotamus markets?

I’m sad.

A lefty friend of mine stopped talking to be because I had a ā€œnuancedā€ opinion of Donald Trump.

The conversation went something like this. ā€œI don’t agree with all of Trump’s policies because some are just plain bad/silly, but some of the executive orders he signed make sense, like banning CBDCsā€.

He stopped talking ever since.

I’m not even a right wing (or left wing for that matter). I hate both sides equally LOL but I guess highlighting some of the good things Trump is doing is an offense worth being ā€œbannedā€ for.

Ugh
