great smelling individual

it's amazing they just throw this out as bad. like it's not working as expected or something

gonna do my first nixOS upgrade tonight. pray for me .

sourcehut is the most confusing git platform that i've used. the use of subdomains for all the things make it extremely difficult to use.

anyone know where i can get a mobi or epub format of mastering bitcoin?

yes vc funding can do that, should I switch to that? Everyone seemed very adamant against it, even nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m . But now they’re taking off and damus is falling behind. Maybe I should have done if this is what everyone wanted to begin with?

I will try to build two apps regardless, but will be slower.

don't get me wrong. i'm not criticizing the decision to not take vc money. i support that decision personally even though it makes development a little slower since you still need to support your family. honestly, i don't think damus should even be worried about developing for android. it's a solid ios client. focus there. we have a few on the android side that i think should stay just android and capitalize on that. primal having extra vc money allows them to develop and maintain for all platforms. all i was getting as is that there are other options. damus disappearing would be a severe bummer, but life will go on. i'm sure someone would fork it and keep developing it anyways. at the end of the day, you need to concentrate on what is important for your mental health and your family's needs.

good call. nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg does seem to be powering forward, and that's while supporting web, android, and iphone. shout out to that team.

nostr:npub1v0lxxxxutpvrelsksy8cdhgfux9l6a42hsj2qzquu2zk7vc9qnkszrqj49 has been playing around with different client funding models for a long time.

nostr doesn't need damus. damus is not nostr. damus can go away today and the network lives on. damus, from what i hear, is a great client and nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s is a fuckin G for what he's done for nostr. but damus is open source. it can be forked to something else. someone could take over while will moves on to other things. there are tons of other available clients. iphone users need to get out of their bubble.

nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg does the LSP just close channels at will sometimes? what happens to the fee that was paid for open that channel?

l saw that. thank you. unfortunately can't edit the post for clarity. either way, it is unprecedented censorship for a phone company to regulate user content (business or consumer) this way, especially for cbc or marijuana...if it's not legal in all 50 states?

i would leave t-mobile with a quickness. like other service providers, according to their privacy policy, they are already automatically collecting the text messages of consumers and so much more just not fining them for it...yet. but they are openly monitoring for it.

i am all about stopping scams and spam, but not through invasive mass surveillance of user communication over their network. there better options

regulation and censorship are not necessarily the same thing. and business communications are 100% already regulated in many contexts. for example, there are whole industries in America that aren't allowed to advertise. oddly enough, America is one of the few, if not only, countries where you can advertise medicine directly to consumers.

why is originality the barrier for legitimacy? I can just make one up for the sake of being original if you'd like.

"let's make it as difficult as possible. if they can't figure it out, then they don't deserve it."

did I do originality right? is my opinion legitimate now?

The comments on https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38718544 are proof that we can't make "just apps" and have people use them without knowing that Nostr is a thing. Users must know.

And in fact I think it is much easier to teach people about Nostr than about why your damn app doesn't have email+password login and where is it storing things and how does moderation work without telling them about Nostr.

And when they finally understand the basics of Nostr they will suddenly understand everything about not only your app, but about all other Nostr clients.

if users need to understand the underlying technology to use a thing, then the thing will never catch traction. normies users don't care.

nostr:npub1hqaz3dlyuhfqhktqchawke39l92jj9nt30dsgh2zvd9z7dv3j3gqpkt56s any chance of getting 24 on the Kobo store or a DRM free version made available? I have the physical book but wanna be able to put it on my e-reader.

I don't know enough about how nsecbunker works but I believe it's just signing events and sending back the signature. I do agree that pasting an nsec into the browser is less than ideal. however currently logging in with nsec is probably the main way on mobile.
