yeah that sounds reasonable. let's be clear here, i am not the one criticizing odell. i don't think anything untoward is going on. i was just explaining what i think some people's concerns might be.
no. that's the thing. there is I think person from ten31 who is on the board of opensats. the guy who started opensats haha and if there is an overlap in companies, then it's minimal. much of opensats goes to developers, not usually companies.
I think the idea is ten31 invests in companies. then opensats could also give money to those same companies. the opensats money, since it comes from a 501c3, comes with tax benefits in the US. it'd also be a way for ten31 to support the companies in their portfolio without increasing their risk in an early stage startup.
we use Loki. integrates with grafana well
I hope to see you at a conference some time in the future man. it'd be good to catch up. 💪
a single co-opted voice is still only one voice. not everyone on panel is an investor. some are themselves devs in the space. some are neither.
afaik they are very open about who's on the board and who has control over how funds are distributed. Odell is a single voice among like 12 or something. if there is overlap in ten31 investment and opensats grant recipients, perhaps it's because they are important projects led by competent individuals.
i'm sure you meant to tag nostr:nprofile1qqsqfjg4mth7uwp307nng3z2em3ep2pxnljczzezg8j7dhf58ha7ejgpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgqguwaehxw309ahx7um5wghx6at5d9h8jampd3kx2apwvdhk6qg5waehxw309aex2mrp0yhxgctdw4eju6t0ke3nsp when you made this post. don't worry. I got you.
two days in a row this community has shown how ignorant they are to developers and their struggle in the bitcoin/nostr ecosystem.
the beauty of bitcoin is that even if you only care about ngu, you are financially incentivized to support the open source developers working on it. the number can't keep going up if it doesn't continue to exist. saylor is just a dipshit and hasn't seen this yet. fwiw i don't think saylor is a good actor in this space.
i personally know odell and know that he really does care about the developer community within this space. whether he has a for-profit company that benefits on bitcoin's continuing to exist or not, it is in his own benefit, as well as this whole community's, to support the developers working on this technology that is changing the world. that could be financially or just with a handshake and an attaboy; it all matters.
those suggesting otherwise should really consider whether they are really doing anything for the community. if they really want to fight against what they see as bad actors in the space, then be the PR you want to see in the world. #learntocode
this looks like it, but i really don't wanna use the hot garbage that is lnbits.
anyone know of a tech/infra/library for doing lightning splits? I know prisms are a thing but my understanding is they require a minimum number of people to buy-in before it actually makes the split. I just want to take a payment and have it split it by a set amount or percentage between n number of addresses. I can write this. I just wanted to not double up work. #asknostr #developer #bitcoin #lightning
i love that new #bitcoin node smell.
c'mon, man. the ceo of nostr says that's the way we should go. why won't you just conform?
nostr:nprofile1qqs9phjf9nl9guj9phc6q9m0makezh5hedwelrf7enhh6f0lp2y8rhspz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7yxctw3 turns out you were right. from https://docs.cashu.space/faq#mints
> Why can't I receive tokens from one mint into another mint?
> Each mint has their own tokens. Therefore, you cannot receive tokens from one mint into another mint.
> You can, however, use the tokens from one mint and swap them over Lightning for tokens from another mint. To transfer tokens from one mint to another, use the Multimint Swap functionality.
