Gemini Advanced (Google's GPT-4 competitor) is definitely still a beta product at least where code is concerned, but the extra functionality it has (e.g. it actually reads URLs you give it) looks very promising once it's had more time to mature and more training done.
Another thing it really does well is constantly update itself with new information rapidly, whereas ChatGPT only has a limited Bing integration, Gemini is hooked right into all the Google services APIs.
This means if you ask random obscure questions like what model of car someone in an episode of a random TV show is driving, Gemini is much more likely to have an answer since it does more than skim a couple links from Bing when the answer isn't in the training data.
Basically it looks really promising and has potential, but it's far from a ChatGPT killer in its current state. However, it probably doesn't surprise you that when it comes to looking up obscure facts, Google's LLM makes for a better search engine.
For more advanced tasks like code generation though, despite Google flexing increased complexity, GPT-4 still way excels Gemini based on my tests.

The UK is sadly infamous for "libel tourism" for exactly this reason, it is way too easy to use libel laws for fear and intimidation here and way too costly to defend yourself.
You're effectively put in a situation where if you're sued for libel you must prove your innocence.
The real kicker is this is after libel law was reformed in 2013 to try and stop this. Made fuck all difference as this story demonstrates.
On Amethyst the zap icon turns orange instantly if you zap a note usually. And it's seemingly random when it doesn't. It doesn't show on the list of zaps for that note either nor does it get updated when the app is restarted.
That's why I'm wondering if some metadata is just not being correctly propagated through relays or something, because the actual zaps work, they just don't show on Nostr.
I should do it this too tbh, the Phoenix fees are stupid for small transactions. I'll setup wallet connect.
Wait actually no, it can't be that because zaps from others are showing, so maybe it's relay related or something? Hence it being random. 🤔
I'm guessing it's probably an event type some LN addresses don't respond with metadata for (that the invoice was paid) or something along those lines if it happens in different setups then.
But yeah at least I know the sats were actually zapped on Lightening.
Okay I just zapped someone from #Amethyst with #Phoenix, the sats sent but the zap doesn't show on Nostr. I restarted both apps, zapped again, same thing happened again.
Zapped someone else this morning and it worked perfectly fine.
Both times I'm using a solid WiFi connection not mobile data.
The zap that didn't show was to a WoS address. Dunno if that's relevant.
Zaps are set to public by default in Amethyst.
I just cleared the cache of Amethyst and Phoenix, made no difference.
Anyone have any insight into this?
True story: I've had a scar that hasn't healed correctly for years, it's been painful and bloody. Docs literally have no idea what it is or what to do, since it's not infected they don't know what's causing it. They all told me to just live with it.

I started medical cannabis few months ago, been using daily since.
I don't wanna jinx it but... since then it hasn't played up, doesn't feel sore or swollen, and the scar tissue feels a lot stronger. Even when I do things that used to trigger it, I'm fine.
And even when the weed wears off, there is still no pain at all anymore.
