that Damus is actually bitcoin only. 😮I just figured nobody cared about any other random crypto. I don’t own any others so I don’t ask other people about them.

Added a new little sculpture to my collection today. The seller called it “the nerd” (pictured on the left). The piece is dated 2002 by one C.Smith. I love that it was made in that year because it means the artist was clearly inspired by the news of the internet boom and bust. His little beau tie is adorable, and also the rest of his style fits the era really well: receding hairline and neck carpet, heavy set glasses and tucked in shirt 😊. The pencil to me symbolizes the transition from the paper-and-fax culture to the new all digital world. A little piece of history!

My 5-year-old just asked me about my t-shirt.

“What does your shirt say?”

“Then they fight you.”

“What does the B stand for?”

“Bitcoin.”

“Bitcoin? Why is it a piece of money?”

“How did you know it’s money?”

“Because it’s golden, and it has lines on it.”

Don’t worry. The kids will get it.

So happy with this new one and for such a great deal!

ChatGPT is down. Luckily I have a handful of local hosted tools that makes this not a huge pain in my ass. Imagine if you are running a service on their API?

The number of times this service has been down is really kinda nuts. They have been breaking the mold on tons of implementations and the connecting of agents and LLMs in a highly UX friendly way. I'm amazed they can stay ahead of everything so well... but their reliability has been anything but good, imo.

This is another huge reason why self-hosted options are so important. TF are we supposed to do when our productivity is 3x, but its all dependent on a central server and closed source Ai?
