Many years ago my grandmother died quite suddenly and too young right before Thanksgiving. Just to spite her ex on the anniversary of his birth. 😉Yesterday was my grandfather’s birthday and he’s also no longer with us. Setting the table didn’t quite feel the same when it was for 6 and not 20. The one thing grief has taught me is that you have to steal joy in this life, it’s never guaranteed. 
I don’t think anyone owes an ex a period of being single after a breakup. If it’s soon you will have to tread carefully and be considerate when introducing the new person to your friends and family. Especially if it was a long relationship, you’re ex isn’t the only one who will have feelings about the breakup. Just because you’re ready to move on doesn’t mean everyone else will be too. Make sure to check in with yourself about your reasons for moving into a new relationship. Hopefully you have a few trusted people in your life you can lay it all out and they can act as a sounding board. If you just want to date casually and haven’t met someone specifically wait until your separation or divorce is well known amongst friends and family. Knew someone who had to make a very awkward announcement via social media about why he had an online dating profile. Rough guidelines.

Today is the first day in the States where I feel it’s appropriate to put up Christmas decorations. For others who derive joy having Christmas decorations up all year long, in the wise words of Sheryl Crow “If it makes you happy, it can’t be that bad”.

I’d go everywhere if I could. Madeira in March for BTC Atlantis. The flights from where I am to Madeira are insane. So I was thinking of just flying to my sister in the UK and using her guest room as a home base for a bit. She doesn’t know this yet though. 😂
Anyone have tips for booking a trip with multiple stops in Europe from the US? Is it easier to do a return trip from one airport and then buy necessary flights there like RyanAir etc.?
Day after Thanksgiving is a planned lazy day. I think I may go take my first nap of the day. Either read or watch a movie after that. What are you up to?
