Pretty sure the oxytocin kicks in and all those lovely bonding hormones help the process of forgetting right along. This mother described in visceral detail a horrible birth experience before adding then I had 2 more. She has very clearly not forgotten the horror of the first experience. I have known a couple of women who had subsequent children after traumatic births, one of the reasons being they wanted to get the birth right this time.
Just listened to a woman tell a horrific birth story where both her and the baby almost died. She followed it up by nonchalantly adding “Yep had two more after that.” 🤯 What!?

I’m gonna be honest and say I still feel a little shaken up. I know it could have been so much worse. It was still terrible and violating.
I believe someone slipped something in my drink Friday night. I wanted to say something so that others will remember to be extra cautious and observant. Besides getting horribly ill, I’m ok. I have questions about that night that will probably not be answered. The who, why, and what exactly I was dosed with I may never know. I was lucky that I was there with a man I trusted who was able to get me home safely and take care of me. It’s terrible when you’re told you’re one of the lucky ones because you just got horribly sick at home and not further assaulted. It’s terrible when even the police are like well someone should be back in on Tuesday to take a report. I think of all the parties between now and then and how someone may not get so “lucky”.
