Kill comes from the senses "hit, strike, throw (at), beat, cut, knock down" while cull's origins are more of the sense "gather, pick, get rid of". ----
I have never like the world cull, it always seemed too withdrawm to me. It has seemed to me to have a non-responsible/less truthfull/desensitising vibe to it.

Interdast! Chimpkens or Quailberts? These Jap quail certainly seem comfortable around me and they know their little fortresses well, so I suppose it is likely they would hang around.
They would at leaat hang around until they were hanging from the beak of a kookaburra or the claws of an eagle or the mouth of my neighbour's huge dog who is seemingly impossible to keep out of the garden. Predator city here, so the the layers of cage are very comforting to me when I am not close. Haha.
It's the best! And no, they stay in the cage when I hose it out. I do it with a flat nozel point-blank, inch by inch, so they don't really get wet or bothered. Too busy pecking away at crumbs that have slipped through the fresh grass they get on top of the cage floor every morning. It is not obvious that I will get them back if I let them out. ๐

One of the many prudent points for attention in a vegan diet is consuming enough EPA and DHA (the marine omega 3s). A solution is to supplement them from algae. It is, however, expensive to get 1g of them combined per day in the belly.
Some run the gauntlet and only consume ALA (the plant omega 3), which is a precursor of EPA and DHA. Humans are rather inefficient at this conversion, although females are generally better at itโprobably due to child bearing.
For us omnivores, we have another trick up our sleeves (other than eating fish): our birdies! ๐๐ฃ
Birds tend to be more efficient at converting ALA to EPA and DHA, especially if they are non-marine birdsโlike my quail, for example.
Feeding your egg-layers ALA from linseeds, or the like, has a lovely consequence of EPA and DHA concentrations increasing in the yolks of their eggs . . .
