Well, at 42 years old I completed a Spartan Ultra. Officially a 50k/31 miles. Unofficially 34 miles.
The few hours of rain/thunderstorms made interesting. Up at 4 am, 6:15 am start time and finished in a little less than 12 hours. 78,000 steps today.

Show up to our Christian homeschool soccer club, and you won’t find that. I have heard kids yell at their parents with no punishment, but not in our club or league. Kids do have meltdowns, but that should never happen. My kids would have 1 opportunity to tell one of us to shut up before they knew to never do that again.
What would happen in the world if we all chose love instead of other reactions…if we actually chose to treat everyone as we would want to be treated?
Probably some seriously amazing things.
Be the change you want to see in the world. I know this can be hard at times, but I’m trying.

I love this quote from The Alchemist. I feel like this is my life right now. Weird things seem to be happening to me right now that are helping me live my “personal legend”.
Part of what I “want” in life is happiness and peace (personal peace, peace of mind). I recently had to have a very difficult conversation with someone that had been a friend. Without giving details, I believe this friend is going through some serious mental battles. My whole hearted attempt to talk was to reconcile the relationship and truly help this friend. While he said he wanted that, too, his words and actions did not prove that. Instead, I got to hear how everything was my fault (including his broken relationships with other people) and how terrible my wife and I are.
Things are not back to what they were before, but I feel complete peace after the conversation. Even that conversation (odd as it sounds) seemed to help me in my personal journey.
I have several other, crazier, things happening that I could not have ever expected to happen.
If I could give a piece of advice to anyone reading this…
You must first choose to LOVE people and FORGIVE before you can have true inner peace.

I’m surprised at the number of people who already do this stuff but I never knew. I was having breakfast with a guy the other day, and he started talking about bitcoin and how much food he had stored up. I never knew he was into either of those. I think there’s a lot more people waking up.

3 of the kids decided to do the ice bath last night with me. 31 degrees out. The water hadn’t frozen over yet because it had been just above freezing all day. Yes, we went there after the hot tub. Some people say that’s wrong, but I don’t care.

We got our lights hung up. Just a few days before Christmas, but they stay up all year. They are pre-programmed for every holiday, and we will use the white lights when we aren’t close to a holiday.

The kids got to see lots of animals today. This is a pretty cool place. They had a fire this past year, lost a bunch of animals and are in a bank while they rebuild. 
The bad news is that we had to buy a new van while on vacation. We sunk money into our old van and the next day something else was wrong. Repair shop said there’s a nation use shortage in the part and they have no idea when they could get it in. We either had to buy/rent or just stay in Orlando.
The good news is that we can have 5 more kids and still fit them in the van. Haha! 1 kid and my wife are not in this picture.
