Build your own airgapped, stateless bitcoin signing device for less than most hardware wallets. ๐Ÿค˜ Not set up for zaps, if you'd like to donate to our contributors please go to https://donate.seedsigner.com

Interesting game theory... nostr:note1ayerndh7thmtm4xk82aayrqhngyulgumc8fesn8425mgr2h9xtrshkjtk7

Appreciate this. ๐Ÿงก nostr:note18q0hcfxzytzrtmcyppqty52q93p66cjc9c8ny7k98uauc8swxr8qymt7ql

I wish the conference could curate exhibitors a little better, but I understand they also have a business to run and people are paying for those spaces. Itโ€™s a challenge. I would honestly also like to see a more diverse mix of people on the main stage, instead of the same parade of influencers that we see up there every go around.

I usually take a billion photos of everything, so i can't believe this is the *only* shot I got at the SeedSigner booth.๐Ÿค”๐Ÿง๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Maybe it was because I was having such a good time chatting with the man who came up with the SeedSigner architecture?๐Ÿ˜† (NOTE: He's right here on nostr). nostr:nprofile1qqs09jtvjlmyrxjn37zv70a89csegcz7rpyqjmnw29cveedhv7vagqqpr9mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumwdae8gtnnda3kjctv9uwarz0u has created a brilliant tool that DOESN'T do a lot of things.

The SeedSigner *doesn't* connect to the internet. It doesn't store your bitcoin private keys. It doesn't cost a fortune, or hide any secrets of how it works. It doesn't take an expert to build it at home from off-the-shelf parts (I've built three so far). And it *doesn't* store your private keys in some device or memory or format that's questionably secure. In fact, it doesn't store your private keys at all! When you disconnect the power, your private keys disappear with the vanishing electricity.

What DOES this amazing device do? I'll let you explore that for yourself at https://SeedSigner.com , but I will say I've been blown away by how easy it is to use and how capably it secures my bitcoin.

I was blessed by my brief visit with nostr:nprofile1qqs09jtvjlmyrxjn37zv70a89csegcz7rpyqjmnw29cveedhv7vagqqpr9mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumwdae8gtnnda3kjctv9uwarz0u . He's still learning and inventing, and is a keen observer of the world of bitcoin. We tried exchanging Cashu tokens, but perhaps our eCash wallets weren't quite in tune?๐Ÿค”

Prolific SeedSigner dev Keith Mukai was also at the booth, but I missed my chance to chat with him... Shoutout to nostr:nprofile1qqs9kr5d5m7lhfnrqwrfpvmay9kcx3dxy0xr8cg34lg0ww8dw7ftc4qprpmhxue69uhkv6tvw3jhytnwdaehgu3wwa5kuef0qythwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnswf5k6ctv9ehx2ap0qyt8wumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytndd9kx7afwd3hkctc0axsam, and thanks for all you're doing.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

I've even heard rumors that the SeedSigner might one day support signing "notes and other stuff."

It was great to meet and talk for a while. And we eventually did get that cash txn to work! Until the next time. ๐Ÿงก

It's all so obvious that I don't need to bro.

While in Nashville, I had the privilege of meeting nostr:nprofile1qqs09jtvjlmyrxjn37zv70a89csegcz7rpyqjmnw29cveedhv7vagqqppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0pyt0kr in person and expressing my deep and sincere appreciation for the work he and his team have done and continue to do on the spectacular air-gapped signing device.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿš€๐ŸŽ‡

Great to meet you and thank you for coming by the booth. ๐Ÿงก

Back from Nashville, and after a little reflection, I need to reiterate a message I frequently put out there: kill your heroes.

Most of the people talking about the moon, laser eyes, power law, get on zero, digital energy, strategic national reserve, etc. etc., or who are telling you to buy this device or use that service are **buying and selling your attention to make themselves richer** -- they generally do not have your best interests at heart.

Think for yourself and don't fall for marketing. Educate yourself about bitcoin, discuss it with people you respect, think critically about the risks, and then, if it makes sense to you, make a sensible investment in it with reasonable expectations, while keeping your larger financial situation and your personal priorities in perspective.

I am a believer in bitcoin in spite of, not because of, all of the wild assertions, influencers and aggressive social marketing out there, and it has taken me 11 years to get to where I am.

Be careful our there anon, don't buy the hype.

I could conversely argue that Monero users who gave benefitted from our work are missing out on donating. ๐Ÿ™‚

A key part of this is the FOSS movement -- please DIRECTLY support open source projects and devs.

If billionaires, VCs, and for-profit companies provide the majority of the funding, you're just going to get the tools that billionaires, VCs and for-profit companies want you to have.

And if you donate via donation bundling orgs, you are going to get the tools that the bundlers want you to have.

I will say it one more time: DIRECTLY support the tools that are important to you.
