the overwhelming evil of the world is difficult to handle sometimes
the death penalty is human sacrifice, worshipping the government by spilling human blood
part of why I can't understand how anyone can be a "marxist-leninist" anymore. even if you like marx
the self is an apparatus of the state installed within individual bodies in order to produce obedient subjects
state communists think they can destroy the state by seizing control of the state, which fails because means which are not appropriate to their ends will always fail to reach them, becoming ends in themselves
imagine calling Zohran Mamdani a communist and he doesn't even want to abolish money, trade, and the commodity-form. let alone wage labor and capitalism! nobody knows what communism is anymore
"Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; those who are being tortured, as though you yourselves were being tortured." (Hebrews 13:3)
my body loves choking on water it's so so good at it
trying to figure out if there's a way around this psychological black hole that won't send me spiraling into another, bigger and more dangerous black hole
just being even partially aware of the amount of labor and money and other resources involved in maintaining even the bare-minimum of what's necessary for the internet to work is overwhelming, and makes me kinda sad. I want to be able to connect with people without depending on all that. meshnets seem cool and like a possible way to decentralize those costs, but I don't have the technical knowledge to get involved right now. guess I should start learning!
nostr is, as always, somehow the best option in regards to what I want out of social technology that I have easy access to yet still not nearly good enough
you're right, big disagree. everything you said is wrong in my view: freud was a prude who hated how his patients viewed things as sexual (though he was diligent enough as a scientist to record it), feminists who like freud are broadly at odds with the contemporary left (although certainly aligned with the left on a historical scale, but in a very anti-institutional sense (see elizabeth grosz, for example)), and while freud was a zionist he was wary of nationalism (which is the cause of most genocide, including israel's genocide in gaza). plus, the elites who are pedophiles are capitalists on the one hand and conservative politicians on the other! but we can agree to disagree, that's okay :)
freud has been unfairly maligned, largely the result of some antisemitic radical feminists who saw the misogyny in his work and exaggerated it to make him out to be the source of all women's problems in the west. in reality there is a great deal of depth and humanity in his writings, and the seeds of an understanding of human psychology that I believe can one day liberate us from all forms of domination. and a lot of that comes from the mystical and mythological transitions he took influence from.
I've worked my way through the entire standard edition of his collected writings in English and intend to read some of his books in German someday. it's deeply important stuff.

using nostr, a protocol largely popularized by the idea that it can resist censorship, to mock people for being concerned about censorship? interesting choice.
the books have actually been banned from many schools and libraries by various authorities, and it's mostly public libraries celebrating banned book week not bookstores. it's about getting people to read stuff the powers that be want to hide, not about making money. censorship creates slaves, curiosity liberates. maybe read a few books, let yourself be curious about why powerful people are upset by their contents.
I don't feel good, or safe. I weep for humanity. God has abandoned us to fascism
all government, all police, and all borders are inherently evil and will always coalesce into fascist terror eventually unless they are stopped
republicans worship money and death, with rituals of state violence, and call it Christianity
ICE is a domestic terrorist organization
I love David Bentley Hart, his book That All Shall Be Saved literally saved my life (and my faith)
Government action itself is violence, always violence. The violence of the elites, which is called "law" (while the violence of the people is called "crime"). How much political violence from the state and its champions do you need to see before defensive, anti-political violence can happen?
