I mean, personally I think money and trade *are* the herd. bitcoin, like all market technologies, is a system of mass control and homogenization. it's just decentralized, so you can't point to anyone "in charge" of the herd. but the collective ideological investment in the notions of value and exchange are the very things any intellectually honest egoist must object to and rebel against.
there is no equivalent between my values and another's, because I am an absolutely unique individual. therefore, trade as such is impossible. we can give gifts, and we can encode the mutual giving of gifts with the symbols which represent an exchange of equivalents to the collective, but such equivalents cannot exist or have coherent meaning and such exchange cannot occur so long as individuals recognize themselves as individuals.
