I mean, he's not wrong...

Social media has turned us all into a homogeneous mass. When we used to blog, we were individuals. We had our own design that others associated with us. Even just the typography (the font, size, line spacing, line width, etc.) gave our writing a face. How our comment sections looked or whether we accepted trackbacks... all of that shaped our image individually.
Today, we all look the same, and it's difficult to differentiate us based solely on our content. We and our message seem less valuable.
And as if that weren't enough, we align ourselves in an endless stream of timelines. That's the price of collective laziness. Undeserved vanity.
Proud of Islamische Zeitung (25 year old German newspaper site). Today they released their mobile app that collects no data and thereby doesn't share it with third-party companies or organizations.
A Palestinian colleague developed the app, I only did the screen designs (in Figma) and helped at the WordPress backend side.

The trick is, AI can detect AI generated content. Now think about it. With this insight, one realizes that AI reinforces the existing power structures. 'They' are allowed to use AI to make their work easier; you little squirt, however, are not.
Last iftar in Cologne ... عِيد مُبَارَك !

Since I started not fooling around: net positive (for old platforms too)
The only social media platform(s) that actually pass PageRank (and thereby contribute to the search engine ranking of the linked target) are those that do not set a rel="nofollow" attribute on your links in your profiles.
Guess which one ...

"A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." - Douglas Adams
Man, what has become of Facebook? It used to be a place where you could have fun with like-minded people. Today, it's overregulated, overly commercialized, overloaded with features and over-KYC'ed. And there's nothing happening there anymore; all the cool people have moved on.
And it's presumptuous and over-woke. They literally prohibit me from talking to my friends there the way I do in my personal life. They intervene, saying that my language is not correct and violates their terms.
The internet is not social. There are no real communities here. It's just a bunch of people being lonely together. More and more people are realizing that.
The internet is still a source of information. Mostly lies. And we are just starting to make business together. That's all.

Yes, Nostr's dark side. You can't delete accounts, notes or private messages.
Nostr is not the last internet innovation of mankind. And the next big thing will address all flaws of Nostr while keeping decentralization and zaps on board.

Every Ramadan there are 1 or 2 days where I take on hard physical work while fasting. Like cleaning the whole house from ground up. Or moving furniture between rooms and disassemble and reassemble cabinets. Today was such a day for me.
But why is that so? Well, I have a theory.
Maybe it's because one is fully detoxified by then and full of power. Or you just refuse to take it easy, just hang there and become fully aware of your hunger (distraction).
Do you have such days too? What do you think is the reason for that?
Haha, this happened to me too in Germany as a kid.
Mother of my buddy came into the room and told me that Olli has to eat now, but that I can wait in his room in the meantime.
Unreal.
