I'm a dork for this kinda stuff. Don't let me shit on it for you. There is a good chance if you could travel at the speed of light and something is 1000 light years away, it may not exist anymore, leaving that aside, cool. I love sci--fi. Also, we are literally absorbing light through the rods and cones in our eyes and I'm reading and what you're writing from possibly a country away, so it's not entirely far fetched. If there were a being with this capacity, why travel at all? Time is such an abstract and uniquely human property. Both important and unimportant, when moving through physical space. DMT removes the constraints of time and allows you to travel all the same.

This would be extraordinarily m, exhaustively emotional, unless one’s ability to scan photons suspended one’s emotional responses.

I think you’re misunderstanding what I was saying…. Imagine a being, non human, or human with some new found intelligence and the ability to scan photons and absorb information via light.

Imagine You are sitting on a planet, looking through a telescope and see a planet 1000 light years away…. Therefore you are seeing the planet as it was 1000 years ago. Then you accelerate through the light of that planet at a speed beyond the speed of light.. as you get closer you would be receiving the light from 999 light years, 998, 990, 900, 800 (the planet as it was 800 years ago) and so on…. As you travel you would be reading the planets light from 1000 years ago to present day when you arrived and if you were capable of transferring information with photons you would have absorbed much of the planets knowledge on your trip.

An earth-borne physical being cannot presently travel as described, but are essentially reading light, information transmitted via photon. To innately do this without all the intermediaries would be very interesting. The pace at which technology changes though, just here on earth, the information received would be irrelevant and out of date by the time it reached its destination. How would you begin to track the advancement of Moore's Law over the next 2 years and transmit it over 1000 light years and have it be remotely relevant?
