Bah… “…don’t want to know about what makes the pipes “
🤦🏽♂️
That’s just it… people’s inability to realize it means it’s not “super” …yet
Nostr is an enabler of something which should be easier… but the floor in UX isn’t the floor in much of nostr (yet)
It should get there. But we all might need to be a bit more honest with what this is, versus what it enables. Folks do want to know about the stuff that makes the pipes, they want water to drink nostr:note1hy7us6sr7ygzrgn973gc6xth3jdfhnanl0sew5k8v70r5f52qtss0pwcha
Just read another Kindle sample, “Take Off Your Eyes And See.”
This might be a full read. Seems fitting to the day/moment/times
Social folks are going to start saying, “meet me on [the color]” to indicate where they leave here to go to…
Some folks are going to just be all 📬 and 📧 with their next
Quite a few will 🕳️
And then something new will connect it all… one part 🔗, one part #, one part 🔮
Sunday 🚴🏾♂️ in the books, now for some rest (and what looks like incoming rain)…
…whatever becomes of the town halls which once existed, it’s probably more true they will remain in the pages/screens read on days like this
A blanket
So interesting the (English) vibe as folks are moving, talking, shifting…
…social moments viewed as they are changing is unique
If only you answered w/the video hehehe https://youtu.be/-ooV6e7b5d4
The past of mobile is still so… close (temporal) to me. So many of the niche moments feel like “yea, we did that last month” and many of today’s concepts and conclusions feel akin to a parent saying “oh that dance is just _____ from when I was your age.”
Computing is stuck… or spiraling into itself in different ways. It is very hard to have a unique thing *and* that be widely accepted and appreciated. Takes a long time for even the smallest things (to us today) to make their way from the invented-past.
If I could tune/shift one thing regarding Avanceé, it would be to reignite some of those niche moments (devices, services, and experiences). That “wild child Sony attitude” of the 1990s/early-2000s… it would be very nearly that kind of thing… but with the lessons learned since.
That would be how bitcoin/nostr seems to be a means forward. To be part of the ecosystem which pulls the present back to itself… rather than the past into the present.
A PWA-only device…
Sounds like a resurrection of Palm/LG’s webOS. If the guidance is rock solid, such a thing would be an appropriate “retro mobile” moment.
Given what’s happened w/usability, expectations, and devices since the first Palm Pre… could be very cool. Wonder who (plural) are sheparding the design for this 🤔
Bah, that should have said “breeze that greeted me…”
Hitting “post” way too fast sometimes
The lake… specifically the grease that greeted me after I stopped beside it to take a third zoom call. I smiled then.
Thank you for this to remind 🙇🏽♂️
Just coded up a random feature while on my flight home. nostr:npub1yaul8k059377u9lsu67de7y637w4jtgeuwcmh5n7788l6xnlnrgs3tvjmf added a post button to profile pages, so I added a feature where it pre-populates an @ mention of that user. Handy if you want to quickly @ someone from their profile. Apparently twitter has this feature, I’ve never used it, but it’s requested a lot! 🤔

It’s a small thing, but def a liked thing. Thank you both
Pulled the trigger on something else for the Avanceé R&D lab earlier today… got one more to pull the trigger on… thinking really hard about what exactly I am feeling/wanting to express in these acquisitions and experiments
#TodaysOffice shifted to “touch-outside while ears-in” - threat of rain notwithstanding, it’s nice to be by the lake and stitch meetings with rides between various cafes. The roads are my desk, my thoughts are the pastels on the various canvases I come across
Aw bugger; nice question this round
Jefferson Airplane
I’d push back a bit… not a centralized issue, but a “scoping” issue.
Using facets for searching is as old as every oral and written tradition. Forms the basis of how we understand associative reasoning.
The scope (association) is broken, and Google’s metric didn’t break so much as it showed what happens when facets are so heavily weighed in use that “breaking” actually means “we didn’t teach them how to search, only how to find what they were looking for.
Perspectives will help… as long as comprehension, empathy, understanding, and some auditing skills also become a part of the personality of a person who searches, and the weights of those who build “content management platforms advertising and tracking”
Decentralized and federated platforms/protocols have long had a discoverability issue… Google’s pivot here will highlight just how hard it is to retrain people around how they search/learn/acquire information
Overdue for talking about some of the tech I use almost-daily, but really have to give props to how the Sentien Audio has become a part of the workday. Really dig how it just works for soooooo long (🔋) and is comfy for us glasses wearers.
About the only thing which would make it better would be the seamless connecting to all my Apple devices like AirPods tend to do.
