Tipping, which is essentially what zapping is, has been documented as far back as the 15th century... and *may have had origins much earlier than this... it is hardly a new concept...
....also from a crypto social media perspective, wasn't there a platform called DTube, where people were tipped for their content back in 2016/2017? As I recall, that fizzled out....

I don't see how nostr is going to survive or thrive without attracting new people and being more welcoming.... and recognising diversity in the value people can bring to the platform outside of blockchain, and recognising that this does not mean that such people are not in fact btc OGs...
I've been into btc since late 2010, not the very first, but certainly not late to the game either......
Twitter is not being run well at all... that is an understatement.... but I don't find nostr user friendly, it almost seems like a closed boys club.... I know I just joined, but I feel that the platform or protocol or whatever you want to call it, does not want new people....
Yes, but I don't see how exactly Nostr is trying to appeal to new people in any way... you join nostr and it seems like a very closed system that doesn't want new people.... this is just speaking from my experience over the past few days....
