I have an invite code already and my Pubky ring set up. Whats next?

I have a pubky ring and no idea what to do with it.

Pubky uses a homeserver model, which is chosen by the key holder. (Via PKDNS).

To bootstrap the network, we are of course providing a free homeserver, so people can post in the app.

That means, like with relays, spammers can infinitely make accounts and use diskspace.

...but we arent ready for that, or for scale, we are still in beta!

So, instead of charging fees or asking for SMS, or Gmail, Bluesky or others, we are regulating the flow with invite codes until we, and the code, is ready for primetime.

In the end, people will be able to host themselves, or choose any host provider as homeserver, all while still controlling their own discovery via pkdns/pkarr. That just is not very easy yet.

So, the codes help me regulate flow into the beta, and prevent spam before we have ways to mitigate it. Nothing nefarious!

As we approach the public unveil of the Pubky App next week, Pubky's pkarr is already being used in hundreds of different projects on Github.

Bitcoin DNS servers:

payable with bitcoin, liquid, lightning

access is worldwide, with servers in every major region (start with LatAm, EU, US, ASia, AFrica)

- benefits: no filtering, nostr relays can all switch to it instead of dns from whatever datacenter or ISP

- own rules and subdomains plus top-level domains possible

- pubky integration (because pubky will need a dns solution too, unless they invented their own).

Fair, appreciate the conciliatory attitude. Let me check back in June.

I finally had the chance to look this over. I admit that I only skimmed over it, since my skepticism has no connection to the suggested corporate or distributed issue. Furthermore, my only personal attempt at public collaborative development has subjectively turned out entirely unfeasible and ineffective. In regard to the supposed dichotic alternative of corporate development, the current definition of a corporation, closely tied to the nation state model, looks entirely inadequate for the reality of global real time data networks. I might lack enough education to evaluate and articulate this more clearly, I feel entitled to at least describing conclusions from year long personal experiences.

In conclusion, I do think that both ideas and implementations can and should speak for themselves, and current Nostr developments give me a definite sense of both flexible and durable properties, and a ground up construction. Pubky lacks that impression, though it did have comparably less time to grow.

As said in another comment today, I personally just want decent basic functionality. I constantly see things do too much, and create far too much noise, including that elaborate treatise about a pretty tangential, and anachronistic issue.

I would really like to see new collaborative structures that properly address attention economics in context of the internet, while avoiding the crutch of violence monopoly enforcement.

Do you have a full write up of Pubky? I went through the slides but was wondering if you had something else on it like a white paper or something.
