I do most of my book "reading" via audiobook. But when I come across a book that strikes me as personally important, I get the print version afterward.

For example: I just picked up the hardcover of "Essentialism" by Greg McKeown. One of the most personally important books I've ever read.

So color me super disappointed that there doesn't seem to be a print version of "What's Our Problem?" by Tim Urban. 😭

It’s so easy to publish blogs on nostr now. No server required. Nice rendering in damus and other clients. One of the main reasons i rarely blog is because it’s such a pita. You need to host a server or signup for some centralized platform. If you’re running your own site you have to deal with git files and static site generators, or god forbid wordpress. On nostr you just go to habla.news, push publish, and then BAM, its on all the clients and in peoples feeds of people who follow you. soon damus will be able to create custom lists, so you could create a longform-only list for browsing them. You could even create a longform list that follows a specific hashtag, like all longform #bitcoin blog posts. It’s a beautiful thing. I’m going to be doing this more often.

Stuff like this reminds us of how versatile nostr is. Custom lists that aren't just about WHO is on the list, but even the type of content.

Imagining a future music list, video list, meme list, game list... so many things that we're not even thinking of yet.

I'm a Bitcoin maxi.

I like ordinal and inscriptions even though most that have been published are rubbish.

I like Bitcoin onchain transactions, even though most of them don't involve me as sender or receiver.

I like Lightning and Liquid as layer 2 solutions for scaling.

I use both self custodial and trusted custodial wallet providers for Lightning and believe most people will never take full self custody in the future.

I think privacy is important, as is convenience and humans will rightly make decisions about what suits them best.

I think we can do better at making tools easier to use or self explanatory/natural.

People in general have trust because we live in a society, but that shouldn't stop people from pursuing verification and self sovereignty on their own terms. Most people however will never get that far.

When on boarding someone, you can guide them in a direction but have to balance with attention spans and capabilities.

It takes a long time and real genuine interest for a person to go down the rabbit hole far enough to become truly interested in self sovereignty. And you can't make someone be genuinely interested. They are or aren't.

What I love about Bitcoin is that it's actually made it realistic for those who do want to live on their own terms.
