As for my country. I move through time and space conducting my usual affairs of the day/week. I come across many folks that have their wits about them and their house affairs in order (across a spectrum of generations).
I also make note of the sheep that are waiting to be herded.
The former have few words and busy with life walking the walk.
The loud ones are usually the sheep and they don't even know it.
The worst is not behind us yet. But I am optimistic.

There are some that have been in the belly of that beast for one reason or other and know too well how depraved it truly is.
The machine of gov is highly compartmentalized, so they're really are honest people in that system that don't know what actions the sum of all the parts are manifesting as the product of their efforts.

I've seen and experienced enough situations to where it's almost impossible to surprise me.
My conclusion is that in most cases neither side of that relationship cares. They're in the "situationship" their in bc their both getting a specific thing. And often that thing has little to do with commitment or loyalty and more to do with the physical things of life.
Rarely, but in some cases, a person really doesn't know and on course for some major disappointment and pain. In those instances it pains me a bit, especially when their are children involved.
But not to the point where I'm going to get involved.
