I learned early on to be mindful of who I invite to my home, offer a ride in my car. Some people who might consider you a friend could (and sometimes does) sue you bc they know you're insured.
Imagine your giving a "friend" a ride home. You get into an accident. No one is hurt.
But you have (great) insurance. So your "friend" sues you bc maybe they suspect you have a large policy and so he will likely get a settlement. At your expense even if you are insured.
This actually happened to a family member.
Didn't get much work done today. But managed to get some IRL FaceTime with old friends.

There is an account on #nostr which is an artist that does lifelike pencil portraits. Hair braidings and facial images. I thought I was following them. But not able to find that profile. Possibly has changed his/her avatar.

Some may not admit this and maybe most wouldn't. But, in the begining all it takes is hard work. Eventually, you figure out how toconvert that hard work into smart work. But until you do, it's simply raw, hard, work.
In my case, I was in my mid 30's. Some folks get to that spot in their 20's while other maybe even in their 40's or later.
This applies to just about everything in life.

But my pops taught me this too.

Had some family members visit for a few weeks. While some were sick during their visit. We still had a great time. I thought for a while having moved to where I currently am (middle of basically nowhere) that t,hese visits would become an extinct family tradition. But distractions were minimal and as a result the experience was better for everyone.
So I write this note in the hopes that this is the start of a newer more improved version of an old family tradition.

This morning steps were cloudy, but slightly faster then average about a 10 minute mile pace, normally closer to an 11 or 12 minute mile pace.
So 25k steps done by 9am. Anything more for the day is extra credit.
Pretty pumped about the day, new month and upcoming holidays. I hope you are too.

Sometimes me too. They were a big part of our family movie night. Shared this story with mini me last night and she learned this is where her mom and I had initially met. Using her words "you met mom at basically a Netflix store?!". Haha. 😂😅😅
Interesting way to sum that up. But I get it.
When I was a child, on Fridays my pops would come home after work with, not one but TWO movies (VHS video) from Blockbusters.
Those were the best movie nights.

I'm excited about tomorrow bc I get to visit a friend in the area visiting from the Sunshine State for a few days.
He is one of those friends that has always hit me with the truth, even when it didn't taste so good.
Oh and he's rarely tactful with his delivery. So, not only does it not taste good, but usually looks like an insult when he delivers it.
So yeah. I value him being part of my life.
