I think today, I'll hit reset on the biz line voicemails. If the world hasn't blown up yet, I probably don't need to hear what it's about. 240 unheard voicemails. I can't remember the last time I left someone a voicemail.

Orders a couple books from Amazon in the morning, at least 2 of them arrived by 5pm later that same day. The 3rd is expected today.
Not here to hype Amazon, but that's a pretty cool feature to have in your life.

Baby sister and mini me are scheduled to arrive later today. I saw them just a few weeks ago, but still feels like it's been a long time. They were both sick the last trip. So hoping we can all get that full experience the next few days.

It's kinda cute how our parents and family as kids make us feel the world revolves around us. So by the time we're a teen, we actually believe it. A teenager can literally talk about themselves and their world for hours and days.
I think I was about 17 or 18 when I began to suspect, hey maybe that's not really the case.
Definitely by the time I got into boot camp, I had that harsh realization. Me to self, "hey the world does not revolve around you. In fact the world doesn't give two sats about you." But it's really cute to watch a kid be a kid.

The results from #dogstr 3 lab work are good. Vet recommends portion control during feeding time. Bugger is probably gulping his meals down to fast. Instead of putting his whole meal out in one serving, break it down to 2-3 separate servings. So yeah, now I gotta spoon feed a dog. The sacrifices we make. SMH.

Haven't seen it in whole, so thought I'd remind myself.
Today's "responsibilities" for the niece.
I sent her a spreadsheet with 9 names and addresses (every address on our street).
Write up greeting cards and hand deliver them to the neighbors. No mailbox, they must be hand delivered.
Take Grandma with you.
If you're invited in, text before you walk in. And text when you leave.
If you're offered treats, accept them but say your saving for later and don't eat anything.
That should keep them busy for a few hours I hope.

We got out a little later than usual for our morning steps today.
As I was walking up the road back from our run, a neighbor was pulling up and I peeped a freshly smashed windshield on his (tow) truck with about 6 paychecks on the trailer.
I inquired. "yeah, I had some drama last night". Not surprised. He does bank repos.
Creeping into people's driveways in the middle of the night and snatching cars. Occasionally, there is going to be drama.
But he is a capable soldier, so not something he worries about. But last night, it was a young lady about the same age as his daughter in law that flexed on him. So he reluctantly caught an L.
I asked him "why do you do it?" He is 72 y/o and almost knocking on heaven's door and really doesn't need to.
His reply "so my grandsons never have to." (twin 9 y/o).
I get that, but "have you heard of #bitcoin ". He hasn't, so I am going to order him a couple books TODAY.
Good morning #Nostr fam. We sometimes call it Hump Day Wednesday. But today, for me, it's Wonderful Wednesday. What's it for you? I wanna know.
Yesterday my mom and niece (13 y/o) arrived. Their Uber fare to the house was 2x their air fare to my closest airport. But, it saved me at least 5 hours. So worth it.
So, how do you keep a teenager occupied so can that you can eek out some work?! Overload them with responsibilities (work). At least until aunt arrives tomorrow.
Oh, and so yeah, we didn't blast the music this morning. We're keeping quiet...at least until 9am. Sacrifices I make. Eeesh.

First Holiday family gathering in new town, new neighbors, new home. Establishing new family traditions. Yeah, kinda amped about all that. But most importantly the family will know where to find me and how to get to me if when they need to.
That wasn't the case when 9/11 went down. I was a nomad back in those days.

Didn't get as much done today as I wanted to. But stopped by the cigar lounge for some FaceTime with the gang, some I've not seen in a long while. So, not a bad trade off. Make up for it tomorrow.

We are all fortunate. It's a team effort and would be a much heavier lift were I on my own. But Mom has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. We all chip in.
I dig that. As for me, I just want it to be fast when my time comes.
π―π― Not everyone is cut from the same cloth. We help, lead, coach, mentor when we're presented with an opportunity to help someone that will appreciate it. That's my code and I feel good when I go to bed at the end of the day.
