What frustrates me the most about this is that having just a tiny smidget awareness of history and they would realize this is from an old playbook that's been used for hundreds of years by dozens of states/empires to manipulate the masses.
You might forgive the populations back then bc information was not as readily available.
But in 2024 we have internet and information for the most part is free and easily accessible. So why does it still work?!
I totally get that.
But, I'm of mind the level of security achieved by KYC can be matched (or even surpassed) in a permissionless framework if/when we stop building on the KYC frameworks and redirect those resources to the permissionless frameworks.
We (collectively) are enabling the reluctant masses in one camp by continuing down this path.
I hadn't thought of them that way. But this tracks with what I personally know in adjacent circles.
I had an occasional objection to KYC 5 years ago.
My reactions have become increasing more violent now when I am faced with it.
My NSEC or seed phrase should be proof enough that I am who I am.
In a world that operates on the #BTC standard, only real investors will invest (like...they can read and comprehend a prospectus). Everyone else will just save their sats.
#My2Sats
We are at that point where it's become equally (if not more) as important to be as plugged into an IRL community as your cyber community.
Find one or build one, but have one.

Not intentionally sounding like there is a right or wrong. Just stark.
Think Air Traffic Controller, one who likely thrives in this setting.
Drama is draining to some and recharging to others.
I've met folks from both camps in my life. But it hasn't occurred to me until now how stark that line is within most social circles.
It exist IRL & in cyberspace.
Yeah I can pretty slow sometimes at making some captain obvious connections. I laugh at myself. It's OK Shash 😄🤣😂.

Signing out for the day. GN #Nostr fam ✌🏽🌌🥱🛏️💤
That just came out. Probably something that won't get mentioned in any IRL conversation I'll be having. #Nostr does this to you. Be careful!
Going through snail mail, with the expectation just about all of it will be going straight to the trash unopened.
Glad I didn't, there was one hand written letter in the pile from a scarce friend whom is currently doing the mountain man thing in the hills of Panama Central America. Checking in on me.
He's got prostate cancer.
I'll file that one under the worst news I've gotten this month.
He first hits me with all the progress he and wife have made on the property. About 2 pages of updates. And closes the letter with one sentence.
"Yeah man, so I have prostate cancer and [insert wife name here] is getting on my nerves about it.
Knowing him like I do it means it's probably too late and it's bad.
I've thought about it a little bit, the "why" we do it time after time.
Aside from all the other reasons that we also get from our human relationships.
I have a theory on that, but thinking on it a bit more.
Haven't seen #Dogstr #1 & #3 in 4 months. #3 (no longer a pup) was the first to run to me when I stepped out of the car and he's also the youngest. #1 (the OG) was like "yeah dude....you good?" and went back to the porch.
I kept #2 in the car for a bit to let things settle down before I let her out.
The stuff (plants, roots, mushrooms, etc) that are great for your body (and mind) usually dont taste that good or look pretty as a smoothie or shake.
Sea Moss, Ginger, Tumeric, Ginseng,, Turkey's Tail, Lion's Mane, Beet Roots, Essaic, Chaga and a bunch of other stuff I didn't know how to spell.
Personally, taste don't bother me. In the summer some ice and water does the trick and in the summer I'll make it a tea. No muss, no fuss.
Uncle Bozz sent me a gallon, "portion for a month and put the rest in the freezer. This should last 3-4 months. Let me know when you need a re-up".
He makes it from scratch (buys all the ingredients separately) and completely destroys the kitchen in the process. My aunt is used to it at this point.
Chopped it up with the pool neighbor for a bit. He's an OK dude.
His oldest is starting college this summer. We're about the same age. I just started sooner then he did with the whole baby making biz. He's got one more to go.
Soon to be #EmptyNester he's looking for a fast forward button to get the second one off and on. 😂🤣😄
We know often our 🐕🦺 will likely pass on to the next life before we do.
And that pain is more real then losing some of our 2 legged friends.
But we often get another 🐕🦺 anyway.
I can't explain it, can you?!
For those of you going through one of those moments at present, my 💜 is with you 🫂.
Ya just can't help yourself. 😂🤣😄
I will be a grandfather in about a month. Mini me lives about 3 hours away. At the moment not sure I'll get to see her or baby anytime soon.
The thought crossed my mind to drive down and visit them.
But instead I called. Spoke to her partner for a bit as she was still sleeping.
He's a bit nervous and anxious. He's about 4 years younger then she is, so probably feeling a bit ill prepared.
We chopped it up a bit about his work stuff, small apartment, they will need to move basically within weeks of having a baby if timelines prove accurate. He's kinda nervous and worried about a lot of things that are unimportant. I was the same when I was bringing mini me into this world at an event younger age of 20 (think he's about 26).
"That's normal" I assured him. You guys will be just fine. I felt the same way when I was in your place.
I've been so wrapped up in other things, that I haven't had a chance to let the whole grandfather thing sink in yet. Maybe I'll get a book on it for the trip back.
#WWAGGDO What would a good grand dad do?!
6 hours on the road or tend to affairs of the house.
